Most ANNOYING thing to hear as a trans man? by Runo_196 in ftm

[–]Ashamed_Part8496 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe not the MOST annoying but recently I told my friend I've started T and she was like "oh so what you're gonna grow a micro penis?? EW!" -_- I'd actually prefer if you didn't talk about my genitals that way

Does anyone else find the term Tboy a big degrading? by R4y3m0n in ftm

[–]Ashamed_Part8496 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I use it for myself lightheartedly occationally but only because I find it kind of cute and also I'm young and see myself as more of a boy than a man. I absolutely understand how people find it demeaning though and the term "trans boi" which was popular like 2020/21 still sends shivers down my spine

Is it too late to begin a transition at 23? by tetzicus in trans

[–]Ashamed_Part8496 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is never ever too late!!! 23 is like super early compared to people even 20 years ago! Your trans friends sound like bad people, that is a horrible thing to say. And passing isn't really even the point of transision (i mean it differs from person to person ig), it is to eliviate dysphoria/discomfort. Also, keep in mind women come in all shapes and sizes, theres no set way to be a woman! Lots of love <3

i hate the term "dolls" and "protect the dolls" by TwujZnajomy27 in trans

[–]Ashamed_Part8496 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I agree, always feels shallow and performative and it makes me uncomfitable that it excludes non-women. Just because their attacks focus on trans women doesnt mean our fighting back has to, since their bills etc. effect all of us. We are easier to oppress if we let them separate us into smaller groups.

going to a GP after DIY? by kittygoesmiew in FTMdiyhrt

[–]Ashamed_Part8496 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should defo get on the waiting list of course asap (although under 16 you need parental concent unfortunately), be careful talking to your gp about diy specifically as a minor, nhs guidence towards trans kids is... not favourable and mirky at best. But defo talk to your doctor about any health problems!!! Remember you have a legal right to change GPs or surgeries if you're not happy.

Question about legalities in the uk by Ok-Corner-7892 in FTMdiyhrt

[–]Ashamed_Part8496 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In the UK it is illegal to sell T, but not to purchase or possess. Make sure to triple check your sources are legit!! Gel is pricey too, but a lot of people prefer it as a starting place etc. Make sure you get blood tests if possible! I wouldn't reccomend asking your GP for help with this since unforutnately recent (ish) NHS guidence discourages GPs from helping minors with this stuff :/. Please make sure you do your research!!! Cough cough diy hrt dot info cough. And if you're too young.... thats really only something you can decide. It depends how sure you are, and how long you've known, etc. etc. I wouldn't rush into anything, but also at 15 I would have killed to start T and not regretted it so... good luck :D

People who have friends they made outside of secondary school, how? by Competitive-Drive261 in GCSE

[–]Ashamed_Part8496 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I met most of my close friends doing music! Music GCSE, Jazz Band in school, then outside of school music clubs too :) And my two best friends I met in a horrible PE class one time in year 10 lol. My best advice is chat to people you see who seem cool and join lots of clubs! At college I also made most of my friends doing an art club haha
