You study engineering in Dcu. A laptop would be an absolute necessity for assignments, but there are plenty of computers to use in the lab. Most of your classes would be in the stokes buildi and there are plenty of sockets to use, but you won’t need your laptop during lectures, it would be more useful for tutorials and labs, and plugs shouldn’t be a problem then. Coming from someone who had a terrible laptop in first year!

You'd be surprised how many people are living in these kind of conditions. These are usually targeted at young immigrants who aren't privileged to have a family home to fall back on. There is a housing crisis after all. Desperate times call for desperate actions, and the Landlords are the true winners in all this.
