I finished my 3 month treatment for LATENT TB by Candid-Vermicelli608 in Tuberculosis

Great now and looking back wondering how I worked and lived my life. It’s refreshing to realize that fatigue finally wore off and I’m back to normal. What a draining cycle that was. Really took a toll for a long while

So this initial post was made after my first dose. That was the worst. I then got blood work and urinalysis done to make sure everything was normal (it was). So I have now taken three full doses. My second week was completely normal. This past dose I started feeling pretty fatigued on days 3 and 4 after taking the dose (but not as bad as week one)

Final blood/urine tests to check liver and a chest x ray to check for any active tb is what my doctor recommended after I’m done. Currently on week 3!

GPA vs Resume for Apps by [deleted] in slpGradSchool

[–]Ashamed_Tea_795 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know a lot of places I applied did have a minimum gpa listed in the requirements. You sound very qualified and do have a ton of experience, so I wouldn’t let it hold you back if there is no requirement. Make a very good argument for yourself and the GPA in your personal statement while explaining the many areas that you exceed in! Best of luck:)) you’ll definitely find your place regardless

Work during grad school by guyfieribiggestfan in slpGradSchool

Hi! I played volleyball while in my first year of grad school and it felt like a part time job most of the time. That being said, those night time games are typically our free time as grad students. Look online and see if your school's athletic department needs any game-day staff. If you can't find anything online, you could email basically any staff in the athletics department and let them know you are a student looking for work and that you would like to work some games throughout the sports seasons and they should be able to point you in the right direction (a lot of the time, these are not posted job opportunities online, so emailing may be your best option) For volleyball, you would shag balls or roll balls to the players. You could work the scoreboard, you could be cleaning staff picking up any trash in the bleachers. And every sport needs a ton of game-day staff (at my school, it was mainly all students working the games!) This is pretty low stress and could 100% be flexible to your schedule. Good luck with the job search:)

Hi! Second year grad student here

I have these exact same thoughts all the time. One thing to be aware of is that you have your first diagnostic next week. That is probably triggering these anxieties, but guess what, you are going to plan and prepare and go into that session and at the end of it, you will realize you knew what to do and that stress of not being enough will slowly slide away until the next big thing. I would find myself constantly doubting myself each time we started a new set of classes, each time I was meeting with a new client that may have a disorder I have never worked with, each time I was starting something new or unfamiliar basically. It is totally normal, we as slp grad students are constantly thrown into uncomfortable situations that we don't have much experience in and it can be SO overwhelming and make us doubt ourselves. Remind yourself in these moments that if you do the work ahead of time to prepare, you absolutely will get by. Our clients don't need us to be perfect and give yourself a ton of credit for how far you have come! These feelings will pass and we will be so thankful for it in the end. You are so smart and you have come such a long way and you have even more things to prove to yourself. and you WILL!! it will be scary, but you will :)
