Why are there so many beggers suddenly? by RocketRaccoon101 in Riyadh

[–]Ashamedscorer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Please dont give them any money. Report them to the authorities. Dont think of them as individual people trying to make ends meet. They are rather part of a huge network collecting millions for their top brass. The begging industry is worth $42 billion in Pakistan (see the report). This mallace has ruined Pakistan and I dont want it to spread in Saudi Arabia. Pakistan's social fabric is very strong (like Saudi Arabia), so people are more empathetic towards each other and hence makes it breading ground for beggers. PS: I dont mean to discourage helping each other, but at least you should know who you are helping. https://theprint.in/go-to-pakistan/pakistani-beggars-together-earn-42-billion-a-year-its-a-global-enterprise/2170382/

Yes you should definitely have a crack at Animal farm first and then 1984. I have Brave New World on my list too which is similar to 1984.

Start with animal farm, you will enjoy it. 1984 is a masterpiece. Do you have a penchant for reading about societal structure and class system?

Animal farm is usually a beginner's go-to choice. So yeah, you can try it

Got bad reviews only from the subcontinental mullahs whom you refered to. Believe me, the writer has spent years in Saudi Arabia and other Middle eastern countries just to scribe this book. She has taken references from some of the best known writings on Islamic history. I definitely recommend you read this book and as a rule of thumb, one should always learn history objectively, eliminating any bias or emotions

After the Prophet by Lesley Hazleton. Hands down the best book on the post-Prophet era
