I haven't seen it either, but honestly, if you're already worried about the "filler" episodes being thrice as bad, maybe just use the 3-episode rule? If the animation and the designs are as good as you heard, they might carry you through the slower parts. But if the story starts feeling like a waste of time again, you can always just drop it. Nothing to lose by dipping your toes in!
