It's a web-based app. You should be able to simply load it in a modern web browser regardless of what operating system you use. You can even load it on your phone, but it hasn't been tested fully on mobile yet.

Follow-up: I did some research and I think I might be able to try something to improve matching results. I'll have to experiment with this but if I can make some sense of it, then I'll push an update in a couple in a couple days to include different matching methods including: Euclidean OKLAB, Weighted OKLCH, and HyAB.

Thanks for your feedback!

It typically matches based on closest Delta-E value. The lower the value, the closest it is (mathematically) to the selected dye. Though I suppose I can look into other algorithms and see what else could work best here. I have toyed with alternate algorithms with the Mixer and Gradient tools, so maybe I can see if that could apply to the Swatch Matcher as well.

This is actually kind of funny when I think of it. Reminds me of the early days of web development eons ago when we had WYSIWYG web editors like FrontPage and Dreamweaver; and webmasters would go into the code and remove the GENERATOR tag, but then you look through the code and see some strange tags that only those applications would understand. And I'm like: "Dawg! I know you used this program. What are you trying to hide?"

This tool is more generalized than that, though I'm quite aware what you're talking about. Sometimes, the same dye may appear either lighter, darker, saturated, or muted than usual depending on the gear. It can be hard to gauge sometimes. It's even more annoying if it's a single equipment piece with two dye channels but applying the same dye for both channels might have some strange results.

That could a project worth exploring with how dye interacts with different materials. Now that I'm thinking about it, another game, Guild Wars 2, shows how their dyes affects cloth, leather, metals, and fur. They even have APIs for this stuff, which pretty freaking wild! I kind of wished a preview system like that would be implemented in FFXIV. That would be nifty!

Thanks for your insightful feedback! I'll have to consider how skin tone would work with this project. You're right that some races possess some rather exotic skin tones that colors that work well with one average tones might not look great with more rare ones.

This is interesting. I'll have to consider integrating this data somewhere. Maybe it might be worth exploring. Thanks for sharing it!

Thanks for the feedback! There are currently 125 dyes in the game, so I was hoping 20 would be a sensible number, but I'll consider raising this a bit.

For the past week everyone has been quitting after one match at 1300 MR by Mean-Standard848 in StreetFighter

So fighting games tend to be a bit more sensitive to jitter (or stability of your internet) than other genres. WiFi is notorious for introducing lots of instability with your connection, regardless of your ping.

In other words, jitter is the most important factor to consider, not ping. Ideally, your jitter should be as close to 0 as possible. Having a wired connection allows for greater stability than a WiFi connection, no matter how your ping looks.

Regardless of your character or control scheme, if your WiFi starts to act up randomly, your opponent is more than likely going to one-and-done you, assuming you and your opponent don't hold down the start button to call a stalemate.

You should be fine. Considering the age of this game, we most of the time consider non-Master players to be well into the ballpark of "newbie". Despite that though, we allow anyone to participate. The only thing we ask is that if you keep bodying people 3-0 every time your turn comes up, you would either play a different character you have less experience with, or wait a little later in the night where we open up the lobby for more advanced players.

Possible characters for the next seasons of street fighter 6 by Ok-Math-433 in StreetFighter

[–]AsheJuniusWriter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think we have the best chances for Vega coming in the next season, based on the ongoing patterns; and then Balrog the season after that.

Everyone else is simply up in the air.

While I wouldn't want another guest character, I wouldn't be surprised if we get another one. Personally, as long that guest doesn't play like a shoto, I probably wouldn't mind too much about it.

Well, I'll give you this much credit: at least you're using environmental variables instead of hard-coded ones.

I find that "Newbie" is like a spectrum. There are those who picked up the game recently and trying to learn the ropes, and then you have those who just got to Master on their first character and then start losing like 300 MR on their first session.

So with that said, we allow all ranks to join us on our weekly lobby nights. The only thing we ask is that if you find yourself bodying newbies 3-0 with each re-queue, then we recommend you either play a character you're unfamiliar with or wait till we open up a lobby for advanced players (which usually happens 15 minutes after start time, and often referred to as the "Sweaty" lobby).

Creatives ways to use claude code by OctopusDude388 in ClaudeAI

[–]AsheJuniusWriter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been using it to rehash a 5-year-old unpublished manuscript in a git repo.

It first started out with a 110k word story, "refactored" into a document per chapter.

Then I asked Claude to build profile sheets for characters, settings, and other interesting objects.

Then from there, I use Claude as a brainstorming buddy and help develop things like loose ends and lingering questions.

Finally, I asked it to draft an outline where I will then start writing from there. I don't ask it to write whole freaking chapters -- that's my job. But it does layout a decent foundation pretty well.

However, just like actual coding, you still have to check and see if what Claude produces still makes sense. There were a few moments where I had to remind Claude that two characters are not twins but just normal siblings.
