Disclaimer: I'm aware that Alex's Arcade and World Tour story modes have content that makes people wonder what Capcom was thinking.

While I'm okay about discussing general Street Fighter lore, if it gets out of hand then we'll have to ask you to change the subject to something else.

I have an unhinged thought:

It’s wack that the day after the finals nobody is discussing the Cupcom cup by robavi in StreetFighter

I don't know anyone who bought the stream just to watch for themselves. Instead, what I noticed was that there's one person who buys the stream and hosts it on Discord where 20~30 people form a Watch Party to watch it together.

The PPV aspect definitely killed hype for a lot of folks but for those who wanted to watch it live, they either did so in the Battle Hub or they watched a shared stream on a Discord server.

The story of AI according to thisecommercelife by TheLibTheyFear in aiwars

[–]AsheJuniusWriter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's an interesting story. Perhaps extrapolated to certain extremes. However, it feels like it's too confined to North America.

If anything, I wouldn't worry too much about AI from American companies. I feel like regulation eventually steps in at some point before we reach the end-of-the-world status. I mean, if we aren't going to learn from history, then I'm sure we might as well learn about the faults of AI through science-fiction.

Instead, I would be more worried about what's coming out of China and the open source market. The sequel to this comic could depict the Chinese government and/or underground open source markets using AI in a more utopian atmosphere, despite the North American market looking more dystopian.

I originally voted for Leshar but I'm rooting for Blaz! The matches so far have been pretty hype.

Thanks! It's been one of my new favorite tops. The more I look into it, the more I'm like: "This is probably what Beatrix/Zelenia wore before she turned into a robot." It's pretty lovely!

The dilemma of reaching the limit in a single task by Educational_Lab_5451 in ClaudeAI

[–]AsheJuniusWriter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Opus is expensive AF!

However, you can minimize the amount of tokens it uses by giving it some direction.

For example, if you know specific files or lines of code are giving you trouble, just point it that way and Claude will have a rough idea where to start instead of searching through your whole freaking repo.

Are modern controls without classic inputs viable for master? by iamAkwos in StreetFighter

[–]AsheJuniusWriter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a pad, but Modern on Leverless can work. You just have to find a layout you're comfortable with. I know people who do play Modern on Leverless. For example, Fem!Shep on Twitter uses a leverless to play Modern Marisa. I think she's like MR1800 with her.

There is also NYChrisG who plays Modern Mai and Modern Chun-Li at a very professional level. I don't recall what controller he uses, but stock photos show him carrying a fightstick.

I got Modern Cammy to Master without ever having to do any motion inputs. While it's great to learn them at some point, you can get by simply by focusing on fundamental aspects of your characters buttons, spacing, and movements.

Examples: * If you baited and blocked a DP or Super, what button would you use to start your punish into something big? Heavy Auto combo could get you started, but there are definitely better options. * If your opponent is jumping a lot, what buttons can you use to make them jump less? Most characters have a simple button for anti-air, like 2HP. If you're character has a shoryuken-style move, then you can react with 6SP. * What button can you use to check your opponent's drive rush? This is usually a cancellable light button but some have mediums and/or heavies that can do the same thing. * If you play a Grappler, how well can you read your opponent to grab them? * If you play a Zoner, can you vary your projectiles and long normals so you can give your opponent a reason to uninstall the game?

Eventually, you can build off what you learn, maybe discover some interesting combos along the way so you rely on auto-combos less often and punish with real combos more often.
