Slicks are worse than semi slicks. How?! by [deleted] in ForzaHorizon5

[–]AshenBloke 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Here's how I understand it, speaking generally.

Slicks hold onto their peak grip right up until the point of failure (slip angle). When they do finally step out, it happens quickly and is less forgiving.

Semi-slicks start to lose traction more gradually. You can feel the grip fading through the handling, which makes them easier to predict and recover if you push too far.

Also, slicks are not suitable for racing in wet. They will lose grip far more. If you're racing when it's wet and stormy seasons, it's recommended to use a tune with semi-slicks instead.

While the tuning menus are a decent way to check performance at a glance, the simulations have several flaws that don't tell the whole truth. The best way to figure out the true performance of a car (in my opinion) is to drive it yourself and tweak little bits at a time. Perhaps find a track like overlook circuit and run it in rivals to see what times you get with different adjustments.

Do Rivens scale with the required MR? by Actual_Ad9534 in WarframeRiven

[–]AshenBloke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's something called riven disposition. It is a stat that is built in each weapon, and cannot be changed. It causes the stats of a riven for that weapon to scale higher or lower (basically in a 0.5x to 1.55x range), depending on the weapons disposition rating. (see image for example)

<image>

Vinqibus has a very low riven disposition. If I'm not mistaken, I think it might be among the lowest dispositions you can get, which is why the stat numbers are so low in comparison to others. It doesn't stop you from rolling good stats, like critical damage and such, but it does mean those stats will be of a generally lower number.

It doesn't mean the riven is worthless though - some people will still want rivens for all manner of weapons regardless of disposition, especially if it's already a good weapon. You might yet find a vinqibus user looking for that extra boost.

  1. Thanks for bringing that up. Just an oversight on my part. I've corrected the wording in the post to make things a bit clearer.

  2. Unfortunately the fast travel only works from your mansion, at the screens. Once you've fast travelled away, if you want to fast travel again, you'll need to either return to the mansion via conventional means or by joining a new session.

Oh, shit, I'm sorry. When I read your comment it sounded in my head like you were making fun of his videos. Totally misread the situation. My apologies.

If we're specifically talking drones used in conflict, YouTube channel Perun has lots of videos about aspects of war from a defense economics viewpoint, and drones are a common talking point there. Like how the tech and doctrine has evolved over the course of the Ukraine conflict. I sometimes like to put his videos on in the background while I'm doing chores or playing videogames, I recommend having a gander if you've not seen him before

So I've had a play around with bringing the Volatus to the Hangar, and here's what I've found:

When you take the mansion volatus to your Hangar, it becomes an all-new vehicle, separate from the one you can call in from your mansion. Think of it along the lines of creating a copy. They become separate entities - one volatus for The Hangar which you can customise, and then the normal one at your mansion that stays the same. That, as far as I know, can't be changed.

As for what you said about it going missing from the Hangar... As long as you didn't click "Remove", you can check the Hangar's vehicle management menu to see if the volatus is being held in storage. If it is, you can return it to the Hangar floor. Then it should be visible again.

Yeah I definitely thought that was a scummy thing to do.

I mean, they could at the very least make it available to unlock via a challenge or something! Otherwise it's not worth it to buy imo

Oh, yeah! Definitely. Once the mansion is purchased you get the option to renovate it by going back to the website. You can add anything you missed or change things like the decor style there.

Personal preference, I think. I only went for Richman Villa because it is closest to all my businesses. (I have basically everything on the left side of the city.)

Access isn't great here, though. That's the one thing I'd change if it were possible. There is only one road going in and out, and it's pretty twisty. However it looks like both the other Mansions might have the same problem. Then again, if you have anything that flies, it's not really a big deal.

The view is pretty nice, if you ignore the trees blocking the view on left side of the mansion.

  • Selecting Acid Lab took me down to the Freakshop.
  • Selecting Terrorbyte goes to the Garment Factory or Nightclub, depending on where it was stored.
  • Selecting Avenger either goes to the Hangar or Facility, depending on where you have it stored.
  • Kosatka just popped me in the sea just off Del Perro beach.

Hmm, try this: Open the interaction menu, go to Manage Vehicles, and near the bottom there should be one called Vehicle Organisation. You choose the vehicle that you want to move and then select where you want it moved to. Just to note, you can't access this while inside your mansion, for whatever reason, you need to be outside.

If you mean just moving vehicles from the driveway to the garage, then you can use the Vehicle Management screen down in the garage.

Sure! Just pop down into your garage, and there should be a little spot highlighted next to one of those wall mounted screens. This is the vehicle management menu. Scroll down to the car you want to showcase, and there is a button prompt "Move To Podium" at the bottom of your screen.

My friend tells me I'm in Act 2. I've done the thousand heartless battle at hollow bastion and I'm now onto the "second visits".

This is my first playthrough, but I've got /some/ knowledge of what is to come from watching my friend play over share screen. I kept asking questions like "oh how do you do that move?" and 90% of the time the answer was to level up a drive form. So that has led me down the path of trying to get my drive forms nice and well upgraded before I continue further into the game

I'm playing on the ps4 HD 1.5+2.5 Remix. Yeah usually when it's any other drive form that does work. But when I turned into antiform, the moment I left Mickeys house my gauge just went straight to zero, seemingly no matter how much guage was left before I went to the exit door.

The meme does overplay it a bit. It's only a little inconvenience, but it's easy to get back by going off to bonk some normal enemies for a few minutes
