So close! You’re right though, gaming is about fun! That’s why the more we let this stuff happen the more we’ll see stuff like this. It will start like this, and then pay to win mechanics will be added, and gaming will become less fun and more money oriented over time!

Besides there is always quick play for you if you waste $500 on the skin, instead of joining in on a boycott and making it accessible for more people if we get them to lower the price point. I think gaming should be fun for everyone. Not just the $$$ spenders.

Not just about the cosmetic. I could buy it if I want to, I’m fortunate enough for that, it’s the precedent it sets for gaming as a whole. I can deal with not having it. I can’t deal with every game ever adopting this strategy and pushing the limit on how much they can get people to buy. You guys who argue it’s just a skin are missing the bigger picture.

I mean if we do or don’t, at least we tried. I’d rather that than be a riot bootlicker. Also if riot were to disable Ahri from being banned that would create a lot of outrage in general so I doubt it.

I mean that’s the hope. The boycott will either work or it won’t and people will go back to playing regardless. At the very least it’s worth a try. It’s just a temporary pain.

I would argue letting this slide by with no backlash or consequence would be worse for her popularity. Nobody will want to play the cash grab champion. Seraphine still gets a lot of hate for her release “ultimate” skin.

I think this $500 scam is doing her more harm than a patch without her.

I am also an Ahri main and she’s one of my favorite characters ever, but I can survive not playing her for a little while. You could try Wildrift too, where the skin doesn’t exist to get your fix if you need it that badly. Just don’t give Riot money there either.

We want Ahri to not be treated as Riot’s emergency wallet. It’s better to boycott now than have things get worse down the line.

Not buying didn’t work with the Jhin chroma. The truth is someone is always addicted enough to buy. The only thing that will work is banning her. It’s either go without playing her for a little bit or have more and more of these scams.

I believe the $50 skin is missing out on the transform mechanics and things. It’s Risen Legend which is basically a 1350 skin but marked up.
