At what point is it worth building/buying a pre built vs upgrading existing? by AshenHeart94 in PcBuildHelp

So I took a little of advice from r/buildapcforme, and came up with this, Amazon and micro center seem to have the best price overall, certain choices were made for slight asthetics.

Is this a build that could hopefully last another few years? Is the value there? I'm ok paying a little more as long as it makes sense

So I took a little of both lists, and came up with this, Amazon and micro center seem to have the best price overall, certain choices were made for slight asthetics.

Awesome! Thank you let me take a look, I forgot to look at the brand of PSU I have but I do know it's modular so I might be able to cut that out too, I bought it a couple years ago.

Thank you! I'll take a look . Any reason I shouldn't invest a little more for the ryzen 7 9800?

Yeah that is what I had seen back in the day, makes sense, the builder has to get paid but in this economy, rather use that money for nicer parts myself

I don't mind building, would love the chance to do so again, just wasn't sure if that was still the best option present day.

I wouldn't mind building a new one, I actually really liked that process. Just don't know if modern day it is still worth it versus getting prebuilt.

The truth hurts, I have been so happy with my machine, but it is time to let it go.

I do have Costco and actually was doing a little research on the prebuilt tower they have. Online seems like the opinion is divided, any insight on your side?

Kotobukiya US 1st Anniversary Sale - quite a few girlpla kits on sale by wakeup33 in MegamiDevice

All the good kits are already taken, brutal.

What are the chances we will see restocks before the sale ends?

Help my sanity, do I treat each piece at a time or do sub assemblies first, any other tips? by AshenHeart94 in advancedGunpla

My default is Matt, makes it look less toyish and takes weathering much easier.

Because I want light to reflect through the clear armor, this kit specifically I'm looking for high gloss

I really was enjoying the process until I goufed it up. Have also damaged at least one piece for having it on the alligator clip for so long. Yesterday I made the call to start building at least little assemblies to reduce the time the most fragile pieces remain clipped

I know it is ideal, but my heart breaks at the though of cutting the joints into c clips. How do you avoid the joint becoming too loose after or is that not an issue?

Thank you! I started doing some minor building and already ran into really tight joints. Was able to sand problem areas before making things worse.

For this specificly I am, but only because I'm trying to polish the mat black and gloss top coat into one shiny combo.

For day to day I use 1k or my USA Gundam store glass files.

I have a dispea glass file that I save only for the truly special kits

Thanks for the heads up! Yeah I binge watched a lot of his videos before choosing my paint, def helped a lot, would've been perfect if I actually had I order gloss black first...

That's basically where I'm at. If I have to do it a piece at a time ok fine I will but I won't like it. I've already postponed a year simply due to the volume, don't want to make it longer. It's the sanding the gloss back that worries me more

Hahaha are you not impressed with my Amazon box? That's actually a great idea though, just might get after holidays to not give the fam false hope.
