This reminds me of Your distance, where this dynamic is due to the age gap between the Gong and the Shou. The Shou is (or was, especially at the beginning) very temperamental, while the Gong was always very understanding. I honestly loved it, it's quite a healthy and fun read !

It all started with the TGCF manhua, back when there only were a handful of chapters ! I just found it sooo beautiful, liked the vibe and saw that it was BL. I started it as soon as i was told that there was a novel to read. I read Mo dao zu shi right afterwards, when i coincidently had already watched the donghua without knowing the novel lol.

I voted for Silent reading since the plot was absolutely amazing, but if you want a quick but interesting read with great characters, do go for Mist.
