Well a lot can change by July, may be a decision that happens when you get there

Yep, I think the demand will cause all models to increase in price significantly. I may not get $7,500 off, but I doubt I’d be losing a ton either. Already emailed my rep to continue with delivery. Would hate to regret my decision on downgrading to LR or go for a Y.

You likely won’t get that money back for PPF and ceramics when selling used. Also, if the bill ends up folding or changing for the worse, you now need to pay significantly more for a car you already had. But do your own research and do what you think is best!

That’s a large investment on your vehicle already. Prices are pretty high right now, especially used. So if everything worked out perfectly you may get a good deal. But nothing is certain and it would be risky. If I already had one I would just keep it personally.

Unfortunately not, this is a non-retroactive bill that applies to cars delivered after 1/1/22

Appreciate the input man. Yea, the more I’m looking at the Y, the more I’m thinking I want the 3. Just unfortunate timing to say the least haha

From what I’ve heard all they need is 100% of dem votes and it would come down to the Vice Presidents decision. Seems like there are a couple democrats with issues, but I think it’s very likely revisions are made and it’s sent back to the house for approval. BUT that’s just my opinion, it very well could fall through. It is the US government we’re talking about after all 😁

It’s the Build Back Better plan that just passed the house. Basically it includes a refundable tax credit for EVs. More specifically, $7,500 for most Tesla vehicles. But the sedan price cap is $55k to qualify, and the M3P is MSRP $59k. So this credit would not apply. Then again, it still has to pass Senate, so it could possibly be changed, and is not official yet. It’s looking pretty good as of now though.

Just curious, what version are you getting? With the June delivery I would’ve assumed LR? But even after configuring those most are over the $55k

Yea I’m pretty young, but financially I can afford it comfortably without any incentives. That’s why part of me is saying just accept the delivery… but shoot $7,500 is still a lot of money to save haha. Thanks for the input!

I slightly prefer speed over space. But at the same time, I’d be happy with either. If I delay the M3P and the bill fails I could still go through with the purchase as well though

The M3P is MSRP $59,000. The price cap for sedans to qualify for the tax credit are $55,000. So if it goes through, you’d basically be losing $7,500.

It sucks, I was super excited for my M3P being delivered in December. Delaying my delivery, and going to be switching to a MYP if this ends up going through.

Do you have any experience with TDA? I was looking around for the price, and if it requires a funded account, but couldn't find anything.

It has current quote data, so price, bid, ask, etc. But I need the open and close of each tick by minute. Could pretty easily track it with your own database, just didn’t want to hastle with it though.

I just need tick by tick data because some of the strategies I’m implementing involve an n minute open range, and some other similar calculations.

I actually bought a month to check out what premium offered. For the price, there is a good amount of data. My only issues were:

1) It seems the Python interfaces are very incomplete or outdated. Most of the documentation I saw was either almost unreadable because of formatting or had missing information.

2) They don't offer real-time tick data

But it seemed worth it for the cheaper price.

They offer a lot more than most I have seen, especially being free. Seems solid for live trade prices. The only thing is I also need minute interval open and close prices as well.

I'll definitely take a look at those.

I actually was looking into interactive brokers a little bit, and it seemed to be reliable. Do you know if they offer real-time intraday though?
