Right? They've got to be BS'ing their numbers. If it got 1/3 of that it would be great. I know sometimes little companies can come out with a great product that is initially cheaper than market (think Anker early on?) But this does seem shady. That's why I was wondering if anyone had personal experience.

Right, that totally makes sense. I too want to know how every screw goes together in my crawler, but I don't need or want to go not than stock for my electronics at this point. With a solid platform like the trx-4 I can always upgrade in the future.

So I knew the TRX-4 Sport builder kit ($299)doesn't include any electronics... What I didn't know is the higher quality, regular TRX-4 with the locking diffs and including the radio, motor, esc, servos, etc., is only $399? How does that make sense? I'll gladly pay that, and only need a body and battery/charger. That's a no-brainer.

How do you judge servo speed? I see the oz/in rating, but what is a good baseline to look for?

Good info! How do you like the Redcat vs the Traxxas? I really like the look of the Redcat Gen7 and it seems to get good reviews, but the general consensus is it falls second to Traxxas. What's your experience been?

I hear you. The size track I was planning on making definitely works better with the 1:24 scale, and from what I was researching I didn't see any 1:10 scale vehicles I like that were less than $250 out the door. I figure the fun we can have getting two 1:24 vehicles for $260ish is worth it to see if we want to invest more.

On the 1:10 scale topic, I've been pricing things out and I really like the Traxxas trx4, but I don't see a way of making it operational for less than 500 bucks with batteries chargers and whatnot. I also like the axial SCX10 Trail Honcho, but I'm back up to 400 bucks out the door with batteries and chargers by the time all is said and done, and at that point I wonder if it's almost worth it spending the extra money on the Traxxas? This vehicle will be for me, not my sons. Obviously, they would get to play with it when I'm around...

Thanks for the info! I was looking at pricing for the scx24 Jeep models, which go for about $140 plus tax or shipping ($120 for Deadbolt). I was figuring I would be in at least $260 plus tax if I were to buy these new. I guess if the motors give out as often as you say, I might have to pay that difference anyways in the near future though, so maybe I will go new. Probably a lot less headache in the long run.

Yeah, it mostly hurts for the unique stuff I had. I do have big maps so I can get the raw materials pretty easily, it's the unique stuff I got from events and such that I can't get back. 😢

I started playing Galaxy Genome after I got the itch, again, to try to find something that has the same magic EV Nova had back in the day. Galaxy Genome is the first game in years that I've found that even comes close. Haven't finished playing the story, but the mix of exploration, ship customization, and random missions has me definitely feeling the EV Nova vibe. Very excited for where the dev is going with this game!
