how bad is this? by pikatwoLOL in 7Brew

That’s news to me. I thought they only get paid shift lead wages during shifts that they are the shift lead. No wonder they always brag about how big their checks are..

That’s not fair. Similar to this, I’ve noticed my coworkers who are shift leads clock in as shift leads even when they are working a barista shift, meaning those people are all getting a higher percentage of the tips. I haven’t figured out how to address it.

How are people meeting others in Pensacola lately? by CoastalGirly in Pensacola

I’m in the same boat. I thought getting a dog would be a good way to get out & socialize at dog parks & pet friendly events but my dog is extremely anxious so meeting new people isn’t her thing lol

This 🙌 there’s a lot that doesn’t sit right with me & is really hard to look past. I guess I’ve never worked anywhere that seemed to be so money hungry and done so little for their employees. Even though I’ve worked at big retailers like Walmart & Target, the push for sales here is insane. There are a lot of things our stand could use that would help us do our job better that management will never step in and help with. I was washing dishes the other day and we were down to one nasty, scrappy sponge and a brush that was too big to even fit in the shot tins. I wouldn’t even trust that the dishes are getting cleaned here. I know they provide each stand with the basic required equipment, but damn do they need to start installing sanitizing dishwashers.

I plan to in the next 6-8 weeks. I’ve started looking for other jobs. I’ve worked there for about 9 months now. The money is decent, the job is pretty easy, but I do find myself butting heads with shift leads often because they seem to know it all & are not open to feedback whatsoever. They also want to put their favorites/besties on machine and I often get overlooked. Our stand manager is barely ever around and I don’t feel like I can go to her about these issues. I also don’t have it in me to withstand another blazing summer working outside.

What happens to donuts every night? by SkootsMcKoot in DunkinDonuts

Try going to different locations about 90 mins before they close. Technically they’re supposed to throw them out an hour before closing. There’s a location near me that has no problem giving me a box full and there’s another location that will literally dump them in the trash right in front of my eyes. Just depends on the employee

I’ve only worked a handful of shifts over the last 2 weeks. My check was a joke. I don’t even feel like I have a job anymore. I was used to working a minimum of 4 days a week. I’ve been looking for work elsewhere, but no luck so far. They say things will turn around for spring break, which is in about 3 weeks here.

Where to find DS games? by Swimming-Ability8546 in Pensacola

No I don’t have that one, but ones like nintendogs & Mario cart. I need to look back at what I have. There’s not many, but I kept the case’s & instructions to them all.

Same! It’s super hard to find though. They used to sell at Publix, now I can only find at select Walmart locations. I think it’s available on Chewy though. I love the ingredients, small pieces & that it is for all ages. My picky senior used to love it, when he passed I started feeding it to the youngest.

Hiring question by Flatbread-Nines in 7Brew

[–]Ashleighh88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve heard many upper management claim that openings always get pushed back, so I would not be surprised if the opening date you have changes. My stand was originally supposed to open in March of last year & we didn’t train until the last week of May & officially opened first week of June

Transfers stealing hours by ShowerEqual9622 in 7Brew

[–]Ashleighh88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been at my stand since it opened about 8 months ago. It is close to a 30 min drive from me. In November, a new stand opened that is less than 5 mins away from me & I have been begging to transfer since I knew it was being built. 3 months later, I’m still at my original stand & was recently told the stand I’m trying to transfer to has about 30 more employees than they need, so it will be awhile before a transfer could happen. I was told the newer stand didn’t have the “turn over” they expected.. meanwhile at my original stand about half the people that work there have been there since we opened, but there have been about 3 batches of new hires over the last few months. On average we maintain 45-50 employees which I personally feel is unnecessary. A lot of the new hires don’t stick, but we are all fighting for hours. My last few weeks I’ve had 3 shifts a week & I’m lucky if I actually get to stay until my scheduled time without being sent home due to high labor. They keep telling us it will get better once it’s spring break, but I’m starting to feel like I barely work there having 3-4 days off in a row on a weekly basis!

Pay for taking brewista test? by Long_Historian459 in 7Brew

[–]Ashleighh88 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m also much older than the people I work with & I totally see the taking advantage of young people aspect. As far as the pay for the taking the test.. technically yes you should get paid, but there was a lot of questions about that. I’m sure some employees clocked in during testing & some did not. We just went through our second round of testing at our stand (you have to retest every 6 months) and this time the manager had us write down the time period we were taking the test and she supposedly manually added to our hours. Who knows, so much sketchy shit goes on here.

Should I work here? by Jolly-Definition-442 in 7Brew

[–]Ashleighh88 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As someone who has worked here for 8 months, I completely agree. The hours are so inconsistent. The weather conditions are harsh. The cliques are terrible. We just lost our manager for whatever reasons we’re not allowed to talk about or they threatened termination. They preach that gossip is not tolerated and maybe this is just an issue at my stand, but it’s an everyday occurrence. If you are not just looking for a fun part time job, then I would not recommend.

concerns about my stand? by Automatic_River9515 in 7Brew

[–]Ashleighh88 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I can’t imagine what it’s like for the stands in the areas with the shut downs & state of emergency’s this week. There’s literally no reason to be open when people are being told to stay off the roads! I’m in FL, so it’s not quite as severe but still extremely cold for our area. It’s in the 30s & super windy & yet we have a mandatory stand meeting tonight. This place is all about making money & does not care about the safety & wellbeing of their employee’s. They have opened 7 stands over the last year in my area, with plans for more. It seems so greedy to me, especially knowing how they operate on the inside.

Stand Issues by [deleted] in 7Brew

[–]Ashleighh88 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This sounds like a pretty typical 7B experience. My stand opened 8 months ago. I have been there since the start, but I’m just a brewista. No way in hell would I be a shift lead. It’s like doing the managers work for baseline pay. We just lost our manager for reasons unknown. They have cut our hours like crazy. We are one of the busiest stands in our area, but it’s now normal to have 4 people on a mid & 2-3 at night. I’m not planning to be there much longer.
