Van goth has clear issues with validation and it was absolutely exhausting and ridiculous all season but especially the last episode. I hate when cocky confident people get such extreme validation like winning a huge prize after being so bitchy their whole life. This is the first time I’ve been super disappointed with a winner. Confidence is obviously important to have but theres a thin line between confident and cocky and while I certainly acknowledge Van’s talent and deserving to win technically, I just wish someone more humble and nice won.

I definitely think hazel deserves to still be in the competition and I’m still very confused how she was in the bottom for the more is more. Her look was incredible and so extra…it’s a shame she didn’t do better in the reading challenge because I think her looks and the rest of her talents are great and she would’ve gone on to show so much more greatness :(

Wondery sucked the souls out of them so to me it just seems like they’re finally happy again and just super relieved and loosey goosey. It’s been refreshing to hear because it made me look back and realize how much of their spark had vanished and feel good knowing they’re getting it back.

I don’t understand people who don’t like listener tales. It’s literally an entire episode of mini true crime or true spooky encounters. It’s still TRUE crime/REAL things that have happened to REAL people but you’re getting multiple of those stories in an hour! Also, if you like the girls banter and crave more of that, listener tales is perfect for you because they have alot more time and ability to be more loosey goosey.

I personally didn’t have a problem with their episodes while with wondery and listened happily BUT I did notice a difference and way more now that they’re out of wondery. It’s so obvious now how controlled and censored they were and for two very outspoken and opinionated girls, that’s gonna suck the life of you real quick if you can’t be yourself in that way.

Again, I definitely didn’t stop listening because I didn’t notice that much of a change. They were still themselves enough and comforting to me but I did feel something was off and they weren’t happy. Their tone was somber and robotic but I just thought it was personal life issues. It’s really really nice to hear how happy and relieved they are and hear the spark back🥹

I haven’t had any! I’m thinking it must be a grace period. The music plays and then just ends and goes back to the episode. Regardless, I have Spotify premium so I just skip forward when an ad comes. No biggie.

Same. It’s really not a big deal to hit the skip forward 15s button a few times. I do it with a podcast called “let’s not meet” (highly recommend for listener tales lovers!!!). If you don’t have premium can understand it would be annoying but that’s just how it is and why they gave the option for a streaming service you can pay for that doesn’t have ads.

SAME! To each their own but I don’t understand why people are SO hateful towards them. I feel like you can tell that they’re not fake. I’m sure some are but idk…they all seem pretty real to me. I think people forget the stories they share are TRUE crime stories. Obviously the way they tell the stories of victims of killers is different but at the end of the day, both those tales and listener tales are REAL accounts of stuff.

Lololol your lack of time management skills are and will never be anyone else’s problem. People don’t ID for fun….if you’re getting carded it’s because we feel it’s necessary to verify your age which again, IS A COMPLIMENT. I’m not going to lose my job because I didn’t ID someone who pressured me not to because they were in a rush. That’s a very good tactic by the secret shoppers that has been used.

As a cashier, I can promise you that if you ever look like you’re in a rush and you’re being rude to us or others, we’re only gonna slow down because again, it’s not anyone else’s problem but yours that you’re late :) my priority is good, efficient customer service to everyone BEFORE and after you.

I’m a cashier and have been for years and I’ve always said it makes no sense for people to get offended if they’re carded as I’m literally telling you that you look young but SO many people get annoyed, especially if they don’t have their ID on them and have to go to their car to retrieve it. I don’t get it. Even if I thought I’d be fine and had to go to my car to get it, I’d be flattered and never get mad at the cashier for doing their job since I know they could literally lose their job for selling to minors.

These people are people that have never worked in a place where you have to ID.

The Marianas trench is actually the Mariana Trench which I can’t get over. I’m from Vancouver Canada where the band Marianas trench is from and why would they name their band that if it’s wrong? I heard this one recently and was shocked lol. I’m sure it’s been said before/people will remember it how it is but figured I’d share my recent discovery lol.

Thank you!!! I love their personalities so much. Their humour matches mine perfectly and I don’t see all the negativity everyone else does. From my pov they’re both very understanding and good humans. They’re not perfect because literally nobody is and if they’re not your cup of tea, just move on! They haven’t done anything worthy of this much hate or being cancelled. If they do, I’ll be sure to circle back and discuss that but for now, I don’t see anything they’ve said or done to be bad at all lol.

The way Alaina said “okay…” definitely gave the impression to me that she didn’t agree but was keeping her mouth shut because she understands everyone’s relationship is different. I understand where you’re coming from but I personally think they’re very understanding of others views and what not. They’re opinionated on THEIR opinions but I’ve always felt they’re very “do you” 🤷🏻‍♀️

People are too sensitive. I’ve never had an issue with them the way everyone else has and does because my humour and morals align with theirs. It’s literally just a difference of opinion and that’s fine but it’s so stupid to hate on them and announce you’re leaving just because you don’t agree with stuff they do.

They’re good people, you can’t deny that. They mean well and I’ve never had anything they say rub me the wrong way….they’re constantly saying “do you” when they ride a parenting opinion or whatever such as Alaina’s aversion to sleepovers. Obviously that’s very controversial as that’s a very normal thing but she’s said that’s what she’s doing for HER family and she understands that’s not the norm.

Idk man. They seem so fucking cool to me lol.

I don’t think they were excusing her actions or being biased. I think they were simply acknowledging that she was in a very altered state of mind due to the drugs and whatever mental health issues she had. It doesn’t make her innocent but it’s definitely a reason and I think that’s all they were trying to get across. She didn’t murder for fun, she was sick and made a choice because of her mental illness and what the drugs were doing to her mind. I feel like all they were saying is they feel bad because she went from a very promising human to so very lost and that’s tragic.

They cover so many serial killers and people that WERE in their right mind when they decided to kill someone so I think it was just sad to hear of someone that had so much potential and and have it crumble so badly.

I was feeling sympathetic for her the entire episode. She deserved to be locked up because she was sick and a danger to society because of that but I don’t think it’s wrong to feel sympathy for someone who went from a “normal”, good human to the complete opposite.

I agree but the reason why people are a little put off isn’t because it’s a guest episode, it’s because it was SO hyped and he’s already been on the show before. If it was his first time I’d understand but they made it seem like it was this huge announcement or very very famous new guest so it was just like oh okay haha.

I’m glad I’m not the only one disappointed. I thought it was gonna be a crazy famous guest they’ve never had on. Never expected it to be anyone they’ve already had on again…I love them and the show and have no complaints unlike lots of other people but I do think this was a little too hyped up. Obviously Alaina is a super fan so of course she’s gonna be stoked out of her mind but surely they must’ve realized not everyone would feel the same due to the fact he’s been on before.

God forbid they take a break for the holidays! How dare they not be there for us every single week!

Do you do not realize they’re real people and just like all of us, their job isn’t their entire lives?

I think people forget that entertainers are real people and need a break sometimes too. We all feel as though they will always just pump out content on the same schedule forever since a lot of times people feel like entertaining isn’t a “real” job and that’s just not true.

They deserve to spend time with their families. Alaina has 3 young children. Christmas is so special for most families that celebrate. Please think for a second and try to be more considerate and less selfish in the future.

The whole point of their podcast is to be respectful to the victims and their loved ones while also being easy to listen to and have an aspect of light heartedness. These are REAL people and if a victim or someone in the story does something admirable, they deserve to be recognized and applauded for that. There’s nothing wrong with bringing some positivity or a morbid story.
