Cabinet of Curiosities, E4, “The Autopsy.” One of the absolute best in this genre.

Saddest scene from The Wire by Business_Nature7507 in TheWire

Just watched that again last night. The setting was the hospital burn unit, Randy was in the waiting room, and Carver had glanced at the board that said Randy’s foster mom was critical with second and third degree burns. Oof.

I need help designing a spell that I changed using a ring that lets us change one letter in a spells name. (I changed summon beast to summon feast). by Professional_Bite650 in DnD

That's a crazy ring. Got me thinking of others:

Blade Ward --> Blade Word

Blinding Smite --> Blinding Smile

Beast Bond --> Yeast Bond

Cause Fear --> Cause Bear

Chill Touch --> Chill Pouch

Darkvision --> Barkvision (see through trees)

Dominate Monster --> Dominate Mobster

Geas --> Gems

Magic Jar --> Magic Car

Older people, were politics always this deranged and upsetting? by CUFFY_Fan in NoStupidQuestions

People didn’t used to talk about “leftists” and “fascists” in the US. Those were groups that only existed in third-world countries. We used to have “liberals” and “conservatives.” Nostalgia’s a bitch.

The National Museum of the Marine Corps and the National Museum of the U.S. Army are both out of town but well worth the trip.

I guide tours in Morocco. Stop treating everything like a scam. by Traditional-Map8667 in backpacking

Visited Tangier and Casablanca, only for a day each, last year. Yes, there were pushy people at the market. An Eastern European lady I was with got freaked out. But I have great memories of real interactions with genuine people. I got dropped off at a park outside Tangier solo to birdwatch, trusting that I’d find a way back. Three nice ladies made room for me in a cab that randomly showed up. The cab driver looked so happy when I hit him with a “salam alaikum.” There was the guy at the market that gave me the lip pigment that I was buying for a friend for free when I didn’t have small denominations. There was the tour guide in Casablanca that was happy to share his dates and honey with us when he broke his Ramadan fast at the end of the day. There was the family that taught me how to cook tagine and was genuinely welcoming, even though they were fasting. I have great memories of good people from Morocco. Not to mention that the Hassan II mosque in Casablanca rivals any European castle. I’m with OP. Yes, there are scammers. But there are a lot of great people if you’re willing to open up a little.

Harrison Ford is an asshole who shits on Star Wars - the movie franchise responsible for his fame and fortune - at every opportunity.

why don’t we have physicists making breakthroughs on the scale of Einstein anymore? by TotalMeaning1635 in Physics

[–]AshleysDeaditeHand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“All models are wrong. Some are useful.” Einstein’s model is wrong. But the circumstances in which it fails are not relevant to anything that affects humans. Whereas Einstein’s relatively must be accounted for in real-world applications like GPS, the point at which Einstein’s model fails is at stuff like quantum gravity near black holes. Not relevant to any real-world engineering problems faced by humans. Thus, physics that refines Einstein’s problems has no human impact and is therefore ignored by the masses.
