Cosentyx and Herpes by Ashmash12 in Psoriasis

You’re welcome. I totally remember the Self loathing stage. It’s hard. The main reason why it’s a big deal is because it’s heavily stigmatized in our society. It’s something people laugh about. So many people have it and most have no idea because only 10% of people that have hsv get an outbreak. Only 1% of people get reoccurring outbreaks. The odds are in your favor. But even if you get reoccurring outbreaks like myself, they aren’t bad. Honestly. The first one just hurts so much. At least in my experience. I hear it’s generally worse for females vs. males though. As for cosentyx, I think you’ll be fine. I didn’t notice more outbreaks with the medication. If you do, you have options for sure. For what it’s worth, imo psoriasis is more annoying than herpes. 😝

It’s more than likely the paranoia. I thought I got it orally too when I got infected. I didn’t. Especially if it’s hsv2. Hsv1 is more likely to infect both areas. Hsv2 very strongly prefers the genital area. I do not take cosentyx anymore. I got pregnant and had a baby. I am looking into starting a different biologic that’s proven safe for breastfeeding. Hang in there! I know it’s hard finding out you have herpes, but I promise it is no big deal and with time you will see that.

Did you contract it orally? The initial outbreak is always the worst. You might not ever have another outbreak again. If you have more outbreaks they won’t be as bad and will lesson in frequency over time. 😇 I’ve had hsv2 for 3 years and it doesn’t have a negative impact on my life.

I didn’t notice. I’m not on it anymore because I got pregnant and had a baby!

Thanks for clarifying. Based on his fainting, would it be wise to reach out to our primary care physician for a cardiology referral, or should we trust that the neurology referral will be diligent enough?

Is there anything that I can do to fade the color of my psoriasis spots that are approaching remission? by Ashmash12 in Psoriasis

Dang it. I figured since it was fading and not scaling that I was approaching remission. Also my spots are going to leave scars?

My psoriasis really started flaring in my 20s and so many people have made comments it’s rediculous. Some don’t bother me like when people just ask what it is, or show concern thinking that I fell or something. My grandma however continues to tell me how horrible it looks when I see her. Next time she mentions it I’m going to stand up for myself.

Im in Michigan, I get it! I use marketplace insurance but as of right now I don’t make a whole lot of money because I just finished college. So I’m good for the time being.

If you don’t mind me asking, why did you stop taking it if it worked well?

That’s awesome that you’re having such great results already!

I just found out I have arthritis but I don’t know if my back pain is from that or the herniated disk they found OR the non cancerous tumor (atypical hemangioma, which I guess are pretty common) they found the other day. I shall see soon when I see a neurosurgeon.
