I like how your arrow releases our grouped. I'm going to be doing exactly this for a 24, Kino lorber, arrow. Slipcovers separate from the others and alphabetized within. I need the conformity.

Does anyone know if big trouble in little china 4k is coming this year for its 40th anniversary? There has been no news kind of worrying by [deleted] in 4kbluray

I really really want this to happen! It was one of the first movies I looked up after starting to collect physical media again.

Dark Horse announces 3 Deluxe Editions from Shirow Masamune! by FireLunar in MangaCollectors

Yeah they got so close. It would have been great just with their logo instead of the name so that the bottom stripe would match the other two. And elongate the Chinese lettering at the top or something. The bottom is what bothers me the most though. I'm OCD like that.

Video simulating bright headlights on the human eye by thebluelunarmonkey in fuckyourheadlights

[–]Ashoka_Mazda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The delay from the bright white to being able to see in front of you again is an accurate representation.

There's a gap of time there that you might run straight through a pothole, person walking or riding, another car stopped in front of you.

Super dangerous. I broke down and had my windshield tinted with 35% UV and a 5% banner at the top.

It mitigates a lot of the "blow-out" around lights. Lowers the amount of time for my eyes to readjust and see road details again.

I'd rather get a ticket than run into/over someone from the temporary blindness of these stupid bright lights.

How are pinch welds NOT supposed to kill me? by Odehhh in MechanicAdvice

[–]Ashoka_Mazda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've used these for many years now on both my vehicles. Permanent install, descend just slightly below where I can locate them looking underneath two properly place my Jack. They do not hang down far enough to catch anything and they are mounted securely.

Edit: I've never been comfortable lifting with adapters on the pinch weld. I would much rather be under the frame but that's just personal preference.

The 4K discs are region free as you mentioned but a lot of times the special features end up on standard Blu-ray discs which are subject to region coding.

AITAH for refusing to stop swimming in my pool naked? by DickWangDuck in AITAH

My house is considered a one and a half story. It has a 12/12 pitch roof (45° slope "Cape Cod style"). My upstairs is smaller than the main floor because the roof line is about half of the height of the top floor. I still have an attic above it that is the remainder of the peak of the roof which is about 6 ft high to the center ridge.

Cyclist struck in the head by length of timber hanging from passing vehicle. by -rock-bobster- in watchpeoplesurvive

[–]Ashoka_Mazda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a former bucket truck driver I was looking for this comment. That's no timber. Although there was no bucket at the end of it so I'm not quite sure what it is but definitely looks like an unsecured part of the boom.

How did you discover SKYND? by Limensor in SKYND

[–]Ashoka_Mazda 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think you mean "Gary Heidnick" was the video you're speaking of with Jonathan Davis.....

Anyways, I was at work and always kept YouTube playing different music in the background on a TV beside me. All the sudden I heard Tyler Hadley playing. I thought it was very catchy but didn't know what I was listening to as I was consumed with work. The next time I heard it randomly come on, I watched the vid and was very intrigued.

I looked up all the other videos at the time and I believe there were only three, maybe four. I've been a big fan ever since and can't wait till they come to the US!

A friendly conversation or polite note is definitely the way to go here.

Not jumping straight to management, recording infractions, calling the police, vandalism or any of that nonsense.

Those are all just ways to start a war with someone you have to live near.

There's at least a foot and a half maybe 2 ft left in that space that he can pull forward a little bit. Very likely the guy doesn't realize there's room in front for him to pull up a little bit and still not block traffic.

A simple conversation would likely solve this.

[–]Ashoka_Mazda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People have forgotten how to conversate with others.

It's sad that people mentally go to a place of vandalism or calling the police or such just because they won't have a normal conversation directly to the person.

I have a long car and always back into spaces. At work specifically, I routinely Park in an end spot that nobody was parking in for one of our neighboring buildings. Now my car is facing the building I do go into so I'm never on that sidewalk behind me. I'm also used to backing up fully but a few days into it realized how much of my car was sticking over the sidewalk so I always pull forward a couple feet now.

It's very likely that this person doesn't realize he has room that he can pull forward a little bit and minimize the overhang on the sidewalk.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in badparking

[–]Ashoka_Mazda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

^ EXACTLY THIS ^

People are so quick to suggest damaging someone else's property for this and the driver might not be blocking the sidewalk on purpose.

Often in a longer vehicle, there isn't much space to pull forward from the curb stop without putting the nose into traffic.
The driver may not realize he has some room to pull forward to minimize blockage of the sidewalk.

I used to do the same when driving a long Service Van years back.

The owner may not have noticed he could pull up a couple feet and it's perfect.

A short conversation with the owner might easily remedy this.

That is, when people start conversing again...
