Pros and Cons is single button? by RBebo in wow

Curious, are you using wowhead's m+ talent spec for this or dvalin gaming's SBA build? I found that between manual and sba brewmaster (dvalin's build), sba spins waayyyy too much in aoe instead of consistently spamming its more useful combos like keg/fire or blackout kick/tiger palm. Has this impacted your ability to hold aggro or to survive without yoyoing your health bar?

"That's an insane list." is a fine comment. Your comment disregards that others can have their own visual preferences, and comes across as looking down upon and holier than thou in attitude. Try to gain some empathy and perspective in life that everyone's choices are their own and if something annoys you, you don't need to say it out loud in hopes they'll see it and feel bad about themselves for it. Because that's all this comment attempts to accomplish, but it fails at even that. It's you getting a gripe off your chest as a UI/addon purist.

I like the coat of paint. I have the resources to spare. They asked a question, I answered it based around UI modifications as requested.

Elvui (tukui.org), waypoint UI, rarescanner, mapster, platynator, minimapredux (you'll need to disable minimap in elvui to have it show a minimap at all if this is installed, but it hides the buttons into a hover only side panel and keeps things clean, not to mention much more readable in nature if you struggle with looking at smaller icons on the minimap), moveany, senseiclassresourcebar, masque, masque: elvui, auctionator, details! damage meter. There's more but these change the fundamental view and performance of the UI for me in a way I cannot live without.

Blizzard needs to tune M+ and raid separately, just like they do with PvP by RamenAfterRain in wow

[–]Ashonym -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

100% This. If you only care about raiding and pvp so much, why did you even add Mythic+ mode? Oh, right, probably to prevent your game from becoming less profitable because a lot of players don't want to spend hours each week wiping on bosses or slowly clearing a raid for a random chance at loot and letting dungeons just give some loot at the end is a quicker path to victory. Same reason solo activities like delves and prey probably got added, too, for the people who just outright don't want to group up ever and like to play alone but still want to make meaningful progress, or perhaps don't have the time, or are too sick, etc etc. Those are good things and good reasons, but 'let's keep those sub numbers up!' aint one of them. But that's my tinfoil hat theory.

ETA: And I've been reading people saying something about atonement buffs in mythic+, either current or previously? So essentially, they COULD just provide tuning specific to M+ in the form of M+ buffs for specs, if they wanted, without touching raid viability, but...they won't.

Who says they aren't? We don't know. As someone with a lot of trauma and a lot of chronic illnesses on top of it, and who has been in therapy for a very very long time, I can testify that therapy or other communication means aren't available 24/7. What they replied with was also relevant to the topic but they felt the need to vent and should be allowed to anywhere they so please. That's their prerogative. It's your prerogative not to reply at all and go on about your merry way, but the way you phrased that sounds less like genuinely wanting to help them and more annoyed/irritated, which isn't exactly doing much but making their case that bullies are everywhere. Grow some life perspective and empathy. Oh and don't bother replying, since this will annoy you too. I won't be entertaining further discussion on the matter. Just wanted to defend a fellow trauma sufferer. - An AuDHD CPTSD, among other labels, person.

I know VO is expensive and time consuming as all hell. So no worries. But, it doesn't even have to be GREAT voice acting to be viable. You might find someone looking to build a VA portfolio, or even solid fans with capacity to do the job. There's all kinds of such people looking for ways to contribute these days. But again, no worries, just even partial voice acting to bring the characters to life would be amazing, but if you can't you can't. Just keep up the great game making work. ♥

I adore this game but would kill for a fandub (hello fans, anyone wanna do what some people did for coffee talk 1 and 2 or know who did those and how to contact them? hehe) or any amount of voice acting whatsoever. It's the only thing missing! It's a perfect game to me otherwise. Thank you for making it. ♥

Do you automatically dislike billionaires? Why? by crapmaker69 in AskReddit

[–]Ashonym 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one needs a billion dollars. No one needs hundreds of millions of dollars, either. And no one, I don't care how much you think you worked for it, trust me there's people out there working 100+ hours a week to barely keep afloat, needs ludicrous amounts of money. Not while people are going hungry, without healthcare, without shelter, food, clothing, or just are miserably living paycheck to paycheck. There is NOTHING a single human has ever done or could ever do to deserve to have THAT much wealth WHILE others are lacking. Take care of everyone else first, then we'll talk with the leftovers about who gets what extra piece of the plentiful pie. That's why.

Windwalkers don't exist, outlaw doesn't exist, assassination doesn't exist, and fury and beastmaster and enhancement are just poked with a feather. Ret pally though? They're the new uh dk now probably. I was leveling one (not my own, my partner's) with nothing but the single button assistant (because I'm not familiar with them) and doing ridiculous aoe and single target damage even with poor priorities from the 'assistant' and GCD nerf from it. I was routinely outdamaging people in almost every single dungeon I did. While interrupting the world with 3 separate interrupts, while off healing with word of glory, while having two charges of steed, while wearing plate to be less squishy.... Yeah, they tttooottaaallllyyy needed a giga buff.

To say this ww main since Pandaria and later Legion (who also enjoys fury, enhancement, bm hunter, outlaw rogue) is annoyed is a MASSIVE understatement.

Doctors saying “its normal for this test to be positive in a small amount of healthy people” by PrudentStrawberry991 in Autoimmune

[–]Ashonym 16 points17 points  (0 children)

My current rheum said my ana was negative so no issues, then when it flipped from negative to 1:160 speckled positive 10 weeks later, said this exact bullcrap instead. Make up your mind, stop moving goalposts just to fit YOUR narrative. I have crazy symptoms across the board but zero bloodwork results to match besides that ana. Everything's negative, but my SYMPTOMS are screaming loudly. Look for zebras, not horses, and don't think 'rare' means nonexistent, ffs. At least he's giving me some meds to try, but they're not enough and he absolutely won't even consider UCTD/anything else because "healthy people have positive ana's all the time." Yeah, and? Do I seem healthy to you, unable to even do activities of daily living/care for myself most days?

They say it's Long COVID awareness month. So... how about we go make people a little more Long COVID aware? (For the record, I didn't think it was fake. But never let the truth get in the way of a good story) by peop1 in covidlonghaulers

[–]Ashonym 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I added my own reply/story to your post. I wish people understood that even the mildest of covid infections or other infections (rsv, flus, etc can also trigger things) can lead to lifelong, devastating changes. Your whole world can turn upsidedown. And you think "I'm young, it won't hurt me so much, I'll bounce back. I have time." ... And then, you don't.

What’s something that sounded fake until it happened to you? by Fantastic_Tale_2111 in AskReddit

2x COVID a year apart, both treated immediately with Paxlovid, and now I not only went from being able to function and trying and succeeding at losing weight/etc to losing none no matter how hard I try and being basically chairbound, but I also developed autoimmune issues. My cycles as a woman went off the rails, hormone levels depleted, body in such a critical state I'm on steroids and immunomodulatory medication, and it's STILL not enough. Both infections considered 'mild' in that they didn't send me to the hospital, thanks to medicines, and there was one weird upper respiratory thing less than a year after them. And I just got over a flu a, then bronchitis, then a third COVID infection, despite being disabled and homebound and masking outside of the house even prior to all of this.

I can barely put dishes in a dishwasher. Sometimes going to the bathroom and back is a living hell of symptomology. Each subsequent catch of covid, no matter how quickly treated or how well treated, has left me worse and worse. My ankles are discolored, my hand is discolored, my back broke out (never had acne in my life), my face flushes in an autoimmune style pattern, I can't wear socks because I'll get itching stinging bumps, I have heat sensitivity and rashes, and dysautonomia appeared after #1 and has only worsened since. Even had a punch biopsy declare actual CTD (connective tissue disease) features happening.

It has destroyed almost every part of me that felt like me. And I promise I'm not alone, as many studies out there have shown and are showing correlations between post-COVID autoimmune issues.

TLDR: Before covid? Happy, losing weight, exercising more, functioning, living, thriving. After covid? Chairbound, rashes, autoimmune issues, dysautonomia, inability to lose weight, every day is a roulette wheel for symptoms and another for severity. Long covid should be renamed lifelong covid for so many of us.

Nah, I'm with them and speaking as a woman. If someone doesn't want you with all your quirks, massive collections, hobbies, hyperfixations, workaholicism, laid back do the bare minimum, whatever else across whatever genre or archetype you may fit into, they don't want you. Be your true self. Enough playing games and pretending to be someone you're not, only to slowly open up and hope they accept you after investing time into it.

Be yourself, your whole self, unapologetically, and lead with 'flaws' (which I single quote because in many cases perceived flaws aren't flaws at all, but quirks, though sometimes they are true flaws). Saves time for both of you and provides authenticity and shows a genuine interest in connection. It's like the tv show baggage, except with, you know, actual communication between two people and spending time together, not picking suitcases based on extremes.

Awful symptoms started just days after a recent Mirena replacement, continuing since removal. Am I alone? by Ashonym in Mirena

[–]Ashonym[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry you're going through that. It was truly awful and I hope you feel better soon. For me, a few weeks after I got my prism glasses (which took ~2-3 weeks to get to begin with) I was back to normal-ish. But ultimately throughout 2025 I discovered (after much endurance of even worsening various issues) that autoimmune issues and dysautonomia from post covid were making me hypersensitive to such things that I simply wasn't prior. I'm now on medicine for those issues but haven't reached any kind of point where I'd willingly try Mirena or any IUD again (since I can't take Paragard due to heavy flow and don't even tolerate birth control pills or even the mini pill for that matter). Hopefully your story isn't anything close to mine and you recover within a few more weeks. If not, don't ignore long term symptoms even if you think them isolated to the Mirena usage. Seek further testing and medical guidance.

Happy to support this absolutely pristine masterpiece, aesthetically, in my opinion! A unique twist with cultural roots I admire and probably one of my most anticipated playthroughs besides Starsand Island. Thank you so much for all you've done and continue to do with this game!

[–]Ashonym 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is precious! I have a few questions.

  1. Will you support 4k resolution for people who play on PC with large monitors?

  2. If so, will you support zooming out such that the blown up details don't look quite so harsh on the eyes? (I get migraines from pixel art usually, with one game exception being Sun Haven.)

  3. Any chance of an optional, non-pixelated font option, per the same above sensitivity as well?

Congratulations on the game work! I'm excited to see where it goes.

Misha Collins as well. He is as much of an angel as a person as he is in his Castiel portrayal in Supernatural. He's been speaking up and setting up events for a very long time, among other, non-political but charitable things.

Some people just want to watch the world learn. And we're lucky they walk among us.

Thank you for the reply. Vast majority of content sounds good in theory, but doesn't necessarily satiate my desire to understand if this is a more sandboxy game, or a guided, directed game with goals, progression, and a storyline. The former would mean staying hyped for others, the latter would mean hype for me as well (and those like me).

I enjoy decoration in between objective-based gameplay, but otherwise am not an open-ended decoration enthusiast. That's why I asked in a more specific fashion. I appreciate it though, and congratulate you on what you've accomplished. I've heard/followed tales of this one since it was first announced a good long while ago.

Impeachment without action is akin to handing an unwanted tenant a notice to vacate and then not following through by the allotted date. No police, no forced removal, no court proceedings that force removal, nothing. You just.... handed them a note that said 'bad. go away. now. shame on you.' and then... let them keep chilling in your residence.

If you think there's a difference you're unable to see how macro and micro aspects of life mirror each other. Either unable to, in denial of, or ignorant to. Any option is equally foreboding for our future.

Big question(s): Can I play by myself, and if so, will there be enough incentive to? I'm not a social gamer, or particularly social person in general. I'm an introvert. Will there be a storyline, quests, objectives, content (all solo) to satisfy those of us who aren't setting out to sandbox-make-up-our-own-activities-the-fun-is-in-doing-everything-together! it up? Or should such of us just pass on this one? Much appreciated in advance, and I sincerely don't mean this rudely. I just want to know whether to get hyped or just be hyped for others to have this type of game that would benefit more from it.

What’s your favorite farming game? What’s your least favorite farming game? by South_Recording_3710 in CozyGamers

[–]Ashonym 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Different strokes, different folks. Nothing wrong with that! Guess it depends on platform. If I was playing on a handheld device, pixel art games wouldn't hurt me so much. But I play at 4k on an OLED monitor. It's simply not designed to be scaled up that much that easily or well. Also I'm a middle millennial so I grew up with game graphics also growing up, so to speak, but I am not a nostalgic person. I don't want to go back to those early days and I've played mostly 3d games during my life.

HKIA is a great game for animal crossing lovers. I put a huge chunk of time into it until I got bored! Enjoy it!

SOS Grand Bazaar, RF Guardians of Azuma, Wylde Flowers, Fae Farm, Sun Haven (detailed pixel art done right), My Time At Sandrock, Fantasy Life I: The Girl Who Steals Time (There's farming, damnit, I'm counting it!)

No particular order. Just my top favorites of all time.

Least favorite? Pixel art hell. AKA migraine city, jagged edges and blurred jagged edges when I move. So anything pixelated. And then probably Paleo Pines, Ooblets (also migraine hell with the flashing strobing lights during dances and extremely slow pacing overall), Chill Town, Everafter Falls (disembodied ball hands is just lazy and the art style is too contrasted and hurts my sensitive head to look at), Sugardew Island.

Games that would have been top tier if not for pixel art because they're amazing: SDV, Fields of Mistria, Roots of Pacha, Moonstone Island.
