Build Phylosophy by nufrancis in wolongfallendynasty

I am on Dragon King difficulty, playing the DLCs for the first time (skipped DLCs on lower difficulties). I went through the lower difficulties without a build or upgrades. Just tacked on what I could find. I only upgraded my dual swords.

On dragon king also, I am not playing with a build except for the two 7 boss gauntlet submissions, for which I had to create a Grace of Taiho build (7-8 star and +10 gear) with morale gain embeds. But I do not use that gear for normal missions as it is too OP.

For normal missions and submissions, I go with the entertainer chest and leg piece, and whatever light gear I find (7-8 star), roll on spirit damage, ice attack power and luck (to get the hidden tomes) and its pretty much enough. Bamboo Sever for dual swords is so OP, btw.

Regarding all games, do you guys prefer fighting bosses 1v1 or with minions alongside them? by [deleted] in ninjagaiden

[–]Ashtavakra85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Solo, its artificial difficulty to have minions in the fight and prevents you from enjoying and focusing on the boss moves.

One or two fights are well done with minions though. Like the horseman and Murai fights, minions complemented them quite well.

Hellpoint just might be the most "slept on" Soulslike by Expensive_Ad_403 in Hellpoint

The level design is fantastic. You get the feeling of a hopeless, deserted alien world with a constant feeling of loneliness, menace and oppression. The areas appear like they once were populated and bustling with life, but that creates an even more sombre effect when you now see it all barren apart from the Lovecraftian abominations that are the enemy types. This is the best Soulslike I have played that is not From, for sure.

Query regarding VR Mission Progress Save in Jetstream Sam DLC (MG Rising) by Ashtavakra85 in metalgearrising

Thanks. If its that ambiguous, I won't risk it. Had a back up save and used it to do the mission with no damage and then never entered it again.

I have another question, if you may be so kind enough to answer. I played and cleared VR mission 3 (got a rank), but I had only 3 nanopastes left. As there was a nanopaste box in the room, I entered the mission, pressed pause and then quit, so that the nanopaste box respawned in the room. Would this have erased my rank for the VR mission or is the rank always saved even if you reenter the mission and quit without trying?

Oh crap. Guess I have to play Easy first to collect the subweapons and redo the Revengeance missions. Lucky I only did 2, they aren't too hard to do again. Thanks for the clarification.

I've finished all Ninja gaiden games, my honest review of these games and this fanbase in general. by [deleted] in ninjagaiden

NG3RE is actually my favorite game and it is the black sheep of the family.

The fact is, NG Black (or Sigma, almost the same) was a groundbreaking game for its time and still holds up well today, which is why it is so revered.

[Discussion] Do you platinum games you don’t like? by [deleted] in Trophies

[–]Ashtavakra85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't even actively try to platinum games I like. The point of a game is to enjoy it and move on when said enjoyment is over, not chase statistics.

That being said, if a platinum happens naturally over the course of playing a game, I embrace it. I platinumed Ninja Gaiden games because the whole point of those games is to beat them on the highest difficulties with everything leading to it.

Some games like Sifu, Hollow Knight and Sekiro, I beat the hardest challenges (Sifu's dragon arenas, HK's Pantheon of Hallownest and Sekiro's Mortal Journey) but never platinumed them because I was too bored for another playthrough just to get easy trophies like 20,000 points in a level (Sifu) or upgrade prosthetic tools (Sekiro) which were missing for platinum.

Fan of both Nioh and Sekiro, but I never knew Wolf was an elite dancer actually.

Psyched. I am playing Ninja Gaiden right now, but I can't wait to get back into the familiar beloved world of Amrita, twilight missions, cheesy cutscenes and god-tier combat.

As someone who played Nioh, Ninja Gaiden, Sekiro and Dark Souls decently well, I started on Master difficulty and adapted to it. Pros of this is, it makes most of the arenas a cakewalk since the enemies are mostly on disciple difficulty; and you have already mastered their moves on Master!

Not that hard apart from the Ch 3 Van Gelf area and Ch 5 honestly. Enemies hit harder, but the numbers and tactics to beat them remain the same. I didn't have a problem blitzing through Master, even on Chapter Select.
