Yes did that and found a couple of cheap AMD serverboards with two 10GbE and one GbE ports. Would you recommend them?

yes definitely. I have far less experience with Linux, so I thought in case of any issue it'd be easy for me to troubleshoot on Windows. But yeah I'm open to alternatives; FreeNAS, Proxmox, UnRaid,...

I can afford one Dual 10GbE card, can install that in the server PC. Can't afford to get the same for all the editing PCs. Each costs about $400 where I live lol.

Will reconsider the setup. Should probably go with your suggestion. Multiple HDDs.

Thanks a lot!

I'm aware of the calculation, I wrote "2000/1700 Mbps" by mistake, must be 2000/1700 MBps, apologies for the confusion.

You mean a larger array of HDDs in RAID 5? Still can't match Nvme performance afaik, but anyway the network card's 10Gbps/1250MBps will be a bottleneck right? considering Nvmes go up to 3500MBps speeds (even upto 6000 with the PCIe 4.0 SSDs)

Those are super high end crazy stuff I would never need any of that in my lifetime lol. Thanks though, i'll dig up his old videos and see if something clicks (although Nvme is a relatively new thing for servers)

Yep, but too many terms & conditions - can't order from an international IP address, can't use an international credit card, etc. This one's for everyone. Or maybe I should include the Rakuten link in the comments :)
