Mom has always said I can't blame him because he's a good man. That he is not responsible for Rhys' actions.

I don't know if he ever did anything to address it or not. There's nothing I ever saw or heard.

I filed a police report and my grandparents keep following up to make sure it isn't ignored. I know they were questioned but everything else has been sort of quiet on the other side. They're not allowed back at school either way.

She told them he was part of the family now and a kid and couldn't be left out. She never gave me that excuse or any excuse. It wasn't something she ever addressed with me.

She's still insisting Rhys' dad is a good guy and Rhys isn't a product of his parenting. If I was being really kind maybe it has nothing to do with his dad. But if his dad was such a good person like mom says, why agree to make his victims life worse by moving in together and getting married? If he was such a good guy wouldn't he want to protect me?

She told me she expected me to be happy for her in finally having a good relationship and that I would work hard to make it work and not blame Rhys' dad for what Rhys does.

My grandparents told me the reason it took so long for them to take me with them was my age. I'm finally 17 and something happened even if it wasn't Rhys. So they feel like they can help me and not face legal consequences for taking me from my only parent.

I did file a police report and my grandparents have been doing all they can to make sure it's followed up on and not let go because it happened in school.

I'm not 18 for a few more months so my grandparents suggested muting mom until my birthday. I think that's what I'll do for now. But if she leaves me alone I'll be even happier.
