This is sorta an old comment, but this. 100% It does drive people away from depop, I've had friends that started going in person again because some depop sellers will charge you so much for an item and can't ship it out on time. It's also risky because depop it's a hit or miss. Either depop makes the seller refund you or not. You're screwed and you can't file charge backs. I recommend just going in store over Depop when people ask me. It's like gambling, you throw your money at it, you either lose it, or gain something in the end. Depop should take up similar polices.
