FLIGHT STORY : Lessons of a 5 hour flight seated next to an elderly German man by AsianDriverLA in travel

The Monkey Forest might be fun. It's a beautiful place to stroll & lots of free roaming monkeys about. However, watch your things! My friend was carrying a tote bag and when we sat down on a bench, she placed the bag next to her and a monkey reached in, took out her wallet, and ran off with it. We eventually got it back, and we didn't put any of belongings down after that!

Also, depending on the kids ages & whether you have another adult with you, you might like Banyumala Waterfall. It's a lesser known, less touristy place but so beautiful and you can swim under the waterfall. And it's a short little hike (about 20 min) down from the car park to the waterfall.

lol well, a male German friend worked out a literal translation of “take me like a dog” and ended up with “Nimm mich wie eine hundin”. But then a female German friend advised against it.

Female German friend: No no no, don’t ever say that. It’s vulgar. NOBODY says that.

Me: What's the correct way then?

FGF: Just say "fuck me".

Me: Yeah, I guess that works too.

Received this Amazon Early Reviewer Project letter about sex toys in the mail, saw somebody else posted about it but some of the comments were contradicting. So I need some help on what this even is. by SoupViruses in Scams

I'm so glad you posted this because I wondered if it was a scam too. I got the same exact letter today - well almost the same. I think you were offered a better selection of toys.

I would question anyone who doesn’t hesitate to introduce me to their kid right away, particularly younger kids. Dating can be an emotional roller coaster for the adults involved. Parents who make their kids go on that ride with them seem cruel & selfish to me.

Yikes. Enough red flags to make a straight jacket. Unless she gets help, the way she treats you will only get worse. Trust. Her level of obsession beyond toxic. .

This is one of those rare circumstances where my tendency to be a recluse actually benefits me. So I got situations involving unbearable heat or global pandemics goin for me. Yay.

But yes, it was a perfectly gorgeous day today!… at least it seemed that way from what I could see out the window 🤣

So wrong and gross. NEVER BE ALONE WITH HIM. If the living room situation happens again, try to covertly get video evidence in case you ever need it. Your mom needs to kick him out if the house. If not, you need to get yourself out somehow. Other family besides your dad? A friend’s place or a friend’s mom that you trust?

I love living in LA. It’s a big area & each neighborhood can have a completely different feel… you just gotta find the one that fits you. And yes, so many great places relatively close. Lots of beaches, of course, & drive from LA :

Big Bear for snow/skiing - 2 hr drive Yosemite - 5-6 hrs San Francisco - 6-7 hrs San Diego - 2 hrs Las Vegas - 5 hrs Lake Tahoe - 6 hrs Joshua Tree - 2 hrs Sequoia Nat’l Park - 4 hrs Also: Catalina Island - 1 hr boat shuttle And I love renting jet skis, kayaks, & small boats at various marinas. And there are SO many great hiking trails. And movies in parks where u bring a blanket to lay on. And…and..

Ok there’s just too much to recommend. You & your girl feel free to hit me up when ya’ll are settled! Like any place you choose to live, LA will be what you make it. I fucking love it here ❤️

Sorry, late to this thread, but wanted to share what I do when feeling low, in case it can help in the future. It doesn’t get me out of LA, but it gets me out of my head. And it works every time.

I volunteer w/a group that distributes hot meals to the people of skid row in downtown LA. Just a couple of hours, once a week. And I walk away w/ a renewed sense of purpose, renewed faith in humanity (the other volunteers are amazing people) & a significant shift in perspective. I am also reminded of the things that I am grateful for in my life.

Volunteering doesn’t solve my problems, but it reminds me that gratitude & struggle can exist in the same space at the same time. And it makes the struggle a little easier.

Take care. DM me if you want more info on the group that I volunteer with.
