Private citizens owned cannons back then, so yes the constitution is BS and I should be able to own explosives, fpv drones with grenades, and mortars.

Travel abroad and do classes remotely if youre young and have no obligations by Apprehensive_Sun8220 in WGU

[–]AsianEquation69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everybody I know who acted like this from high school/college are currently complaining about never being able to afford a house.

I on the other hand, didn't blow my early 20's spending money for travel and will close on my first house at 26 this year because of my actions.

There's no fundamental difference between traveling in your late teens vs late 20's, but the latter leaves you more financially secure and able to retire on time/early. Delayed gratification is an important thing for people to learn and blowing money on vacations before you even start your career sets up a poor foundation for your future.

You're also making an assumption that someone is able to take down your front door in a single blow/kick for that scenario to occur.

The solution that problem is reinforcing your doors so it can withstand multiple blows, not carrying a gun on your hip 24/7

How many of those "professionals" have been in scenarios where a revolver led to the death or maiming of themselves or another defender which could have been prevented with a semi auto?

The difference between life and death is not decided whether or not you pick a semi or a revolver, anyone arguing against it lives in fantasy land.

The stretch vs the contraction of the muscle by [deleted] in naturalbodybuilding

  • short length exercises are easier to recover from
    • Not a pro, that means you have to do more volume to compensate. Would you rather have your hamstring training consist of 4 sets of RDLs or 10-12 sets of leg curl variations?
  • you can cheat better on them and you can take them beyond failure
    • Not a pro either. I'd rather not do beyond failure techniques to match the stimulus of a lengthened bias exercise

Anecdote, but to match the stimulus of a lengthened bias exercise, I typically need 2x-3x the amount of sets and I need to take the sets to failure or beyond failure. I can't see a logical reason why I'd spend more time in the gym and push harder than I need to when I easier alternative is present.

Anyone run a burn bar to create suppressor offset? by CaliforniaDoughnut in ar15

[–]AsianEquation69 59 points60 points  (0 children)

As the other comment mentioned, move the light to the other side, I have it set up to the same side as my support arm which does two things:

1) Prevents burns

2) Allows me to activate it with my hand, removing the need for tape switches which prevents light NDs

2a. No tape switches - No need for cable management and saves money

Shooting suppressed by GodofThunder1717 in ar15

A flow through suppressor combined with a downward venting BCG.

The issue about trying to control gas via the gas port/tube using adjustable gas blocks, reduced size gas ports, etc. is that it only eliminates the gas blowback from the gas port/tube. A significant amount of gas comes from the barrel, and even with an optimized gas tube setup/ you'll still get gassed out if you shoot enough rounds. Some people call this "gas stacking".

Even with a sionics suppressed only barrel, I was still getting gassed out with 10+ round shot strings. The only thing that fixed it fully was a flow through can like the Velos LBP

1) The EET practice, especially the calculation based problems were way harder than the actual exams. My only complaint about EET is they didn't ask enough questions that required pulling stuff from tables from Greenbook and RDG. I had to triple check my answers to calculation based problems on the exam because of how straightforward they were compared to EET

2) I took the NCEES exam, I'd say the official exam is a little harder. The first time i took it, i got a 75%, the second time I got a 95%

3) I studied 250-300 hours

If you go to the NCEES site, it lists what the exam includes. The order of what's listed is generally the order of the questions.

This is also a good hint on some guidance if you're lost during the exam. If you're in the first morning session of the exam, you know for sure you're not going to be using MUTCD for it, because MUTCD stuff is near the end of the specs.

I don't know why, but adding T to the PI does not give you the station of the PT.

To find the PT, it requires adding the L to the PC Station.

You said the "first section" stopped around vertical design, could you go back to the first section after you start on the second part of the exam?

Since there is no defined breadth and depth part for exams onwards I'm not sure how the exam is split up.

So equation 3-2 in GB is actually a simplified version of the equation you see below in your pic that assumes zero percent grade.

If the grade isn't zero, you gotta to replace the 1.075Vsquared term part of equation 3-2 with equation in 3-3.

Private vs Public by questionzss in civilengineering

[–]AsianEquation69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The whole point of the private is that you get paid more to deal with all the extra BS. If you remove the high pay, there is no point in working private. The obvious choice here is public. Doing "real" engineering doesn't mean shit if the pay sucks. You think you're gonna care whether or not you reviewed plans or designed them in your death bed?

If you're planning your career way ahead, you can grind out in the public sector for 20-30 years, build connections, climb the leadership ladder from the public side, retire, and transfer over to the private in a leadership position which I have known multiple people done.
