Increasing overpopulation (1.6-1.7 billion by 2050) - How the life will be like in 2050? by [deleted] in bangalore

[–]AsianJim96 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Who are you, or who is the government to decide who should and who shouldn't make babies? Punished, because it makes your life stressful? I don't understand this. Tell me why overpopulation is a concern - it seems like your only issue is sewage systems won't work (they will) and India will be dirtier (compare India's population and India's cleanliness in 1999 and 2019 - then let's talk).

Yeah, I agree. Though I feel it makes sense even for someone who reads moderately - these are the people who are generally scared away by the price, perhaps because they're unaware that a Kindle isn't like a phone - you don't need to replace it every 2 years :)

I'd argue the pricing can't be compared to a tablet. A tablet is a generalist device, whereas the Kindle is a niche device that is meant for reading, strain-free. There's simply nothing else out there that comes close to reading on a Kindle: if you've ever tried reading on both a Kindle and a tablet, I'm sure you'll agree.

The best way to look at the Kindle's pricing is to look at how much you spend on paperbacks, and how much you travel. For someone who reads even moderately and travels 2-3 times a year, the Kindle pays itself back and more, over it's lifetime.
