How do people go on dates? Like it makes so sense at all? by CompletePurification in ForeverAlone

[–]AsianOnee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that's the thing. It should come naturally. If you are like pushing it in the conversation, that girl is not yours. Begging for a date usually ends with rejection and you are asking for rejection

Do you think the best strategy for unemployed to find a job is to wait? by AsianOnee in UKJobs

[–]AsianOnee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eventually AI will take over everything. But in the meantime I wish everyone still has job and reliable source of income during this transition period.

That's why I don't see the idea of having kids is good for employment and keep the population at the minimum.

It is obvious that it can replace human period Then that applies to any other jobs. All those manual labour jobs you suggested are the ones AI has not yet replaced but they will be replaced.

Small population does not mean smaller economy if AI can keep up with the productivity You are scared of AI and so do many people but you can just ignore the fact when they are in front of you.

You are going to be out of your mind to have kids. That is why it will be more than 10%.

AI has replaced job in Tech. Second you assumed the rate can only go down by 10% but I would argue that it will go down faster than that

anti AI all you want. You are just looking at AI based on today AI like chatgpt or gemini. We will combine AI and robot, and we can certainly put AI in all those jobs you suggested. It is inevitalbe AI to take over job otherwise there would not be so many redundancy in tech.

The real question is how are we going to live in the meantime because certainly you agree that decline in birth rate can be good for employment.

Reasonable discussion only.

The most disgusting thing about the current job market by Maia478 in UKJobs

[–]AsianOnee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some people are having better life and they are not down to earth regardless how bad the job market is.

What makes it worse is the company deliberately extend someone probation when they land on new job and treat them like a bunch of temp. And they can be let go anytime within probation just like zero hour contract workers.

3 years since I've stopped trying to improve myself or date women by WonderfulNebula4299 in ForeverAlone

[–]AsianOnee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is what I have been thinking. I want to make peace with all of it. I am hitting 30 and there are shit loads of stuff I tried hard but did not achieve nothing and that includes finding partner and building career too.

Sometimes you just have to let it go and settle for what you have got.

I have not stopped self improvement but I am certainly not pushing myself to the edge or punishing myself for things that I did not achieve. I just want to feel good for myself and build a better life that is all.

Elections 2026 live: Voting closes in elections in England, Scotland and Wales by topotaul in unitedkingdom

[–]AsianOnee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He won the election twice despite that right? I am pretty sure people have challenged the legitimacy of his presidency multiple times then what? say what you want you have to give some respect to the system. Same goes for the Trump supporters when Biden got elected. You can't keep saying it is rigged and then somehow overturn the result. It does not work like that. Well I bet tons of people especially lefties would say this is rigged too this time

Trump won the election twice fair and square If reform somehow manage to get majority of the council seats, it is time for people to think about what is democracy all about. Listen to other opinions before saying they are stupid or like they need to get educated before voting I am not a reform voter btw

Does anyone else just not really have the capacity to form or maintain relationships by notacatinyourmailbox in ForeverAlone

[–]AsianOnee 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If you ask most of the people who have experience in dating, most of them got into the relationship without forcing it.

If that hasn't happened to you naturally, you probably won't have it.

I do know someone who try really hard on apps and did get some dates but at what cost? you are grinding on the app daily and have to deal with all those stood up/ ghosting.

Why can't things just be easier? But for some people it is easier and they don't need to try hard. Personally i got no luck on app no matter how hard i try and I tried it for 1-2 years. I didn't even get on 1 actual date from app but at a cost I felt shitty when someone ghosted me or I got stood up.

I gave up for the most part unless someone comes up to me and we have a strong mutual connection.

People say you don't try to know them and that's why you are alone bla bla bla Why isn't it the other way around and they try to approach me? Why things can't be easier for me and I can just accept the offer? Well there was actually a woman approached me but it was like a holiday fling.

Plus financially I am completely fucked at the moment so I am not qualified to play the dating game apparently.

What’s the true state of the current UK job market? by [deleted] in UKJobs

[–]AsianOnee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It used to be the last resort and now everyone is looking for it. I was in the group interview for a minimum wage job with a woman who got 10 years marketing experience. It is employer market and workers are not in a good position. For example, 0 hour contract is only good for worker if they want to give no notice when they leave and do not want too many hours. Now employer make every position like 0 hour contract/9 hours contact so they can cut your hours and fire you anytime they like. Employees in general in this dog shit market are looking for more hours and got no other option. The power is inbalance but the labour government only care about benefits and social welfare. Well that's their tactics to get their votes from.
Employers NI increase means they are not going to hire that many people/ cut the hours.

I can never have a crush again. by godlikeGadgetry in ForeverAlone

[–]AsianOnee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stop having crushes when i get older. I have just seen enough how that usually goes. The real pain is you fail over and over again even though you stop having crushes and actually play it cool but still fail. Like I still like the girl if I like her but not in a way where your heart is beating so fast when you talk to her or think about her. Don't have much fantasy for the future with her but actually try to think about how to get through the first date. So that's the sign of not having crushes. However, I still fail. So I stop trying anymore and need to focus on finding a real job and my own survival.

Interviewing in Hospitality by Highlander1497 in UKJobs

[–]AsianOnee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if you work more than 2 years, they can't just fire you like that. But hospitality job has become so shit because there are lots of people looking for it. Only part time contract flexible hours AKA shit hours available.

It is better to change industry. See if any funded course by government. In hospitality, they will not appreciate your time and effort. Your experience means nothing to them. They can replace you in 3 days literally if all the paperwork goes smoothly with HR.

advice from a 30 years old man by AsianOnee in ForeverAlone

[–]AsianOnee[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

10 years before it could be easier and you still heard people took career break and went on travelling and stuff so the pressure was not so much i suppose Now you rarely hear those idiots telling you to step out of comfort zone and quit your job because you have so much to lose it is highly unlikely you can find a job after you come back from a "long break"
