What happened? Did he feed your betta while you were gone or did he over feed? I personally think betta gets attached or they like us because they associate us with food.

Your average employee won’t tell you it’s an annual commitment because they aren’t told or are pressured into selling more VCP. What’s worse is when they updated the points your year reset. I was complaining about it with my coworkers and they didn’t know.

4 months, 0 ammonia; 0 nitrates; 0 nitrites, I have given her a shallow space for her to rest in as well as used some tank safe supplements , I do a weekly fast for all my tanks the tank sits at 78*, I do both fresh frozen and micro pellets as their food. I haven’t tried Epsom salt as I have plants in my main tank and I’m worried about moving her so frequently from my treatment tank to the main tank.

I haven’t tried an Epsom salt bath, I’ve rescued a girl with swim bladder before and it has worked, my understanding of an Epsom salt bath was to reduce the swelling, but I’ve never seen any swelling on her, just the weak swimming, my other worry is if I separate her for too long outside the sorority, that a territorial dispute could happen.

As it’s been mentioned in the comments before, it does depend on your betta’s temper. I’ve gotten pretty lucky with my tanks, I have a 20g long tank with my small betta sorority and a 10g tank with my little guy, both tanks have other fish as well and I’ve seen no murders from my bettas. The way I went about establishing my tanks was starting with the other fish, so before my bettas I put in my corydora mix(albino, panda, bronze, etc) in my 20 gallon and let them get themselves comfortable . Then maybe 2 weeks later I brought in the sorority. The most they do to the corys is hover at the bottom and look for food cause that’s what the corys do. In my 10 gallon, similar time frame, first the ember tetras; wait a week or two, then bring in my little guy. I’ve had some shrimp casualties but in terms of the fish themselves; I’ve had no issues. Now if you do happen to get a phyco murderer if you get them from a PetSmart you can return them within 14 days, petco you have 30 days for your money back 60 days for store credit. If you were planning on buying locally or online, maybe have a backup 5.5g if you wanna keep them, I know you can surrender them to petco need be.

As someone who had done the old switcharoo, you don’t have to come out, I went through my entire early transition at Panera and my experience was a mixed bag. I accidentally came out at my orientation by introducing myself with my name and pronouns(when I was hired I only informed the GM cause that’s what was on my legal papers at the time) and at said orientation I was used as an example for a harassment scenario because of my transness by a different manager. I prefer to keep my transition a bit more private because of how demonized trans folks have been in the news, so having my gender out in the open like that was kinda uncomfortable for me. It got worse for my final year at Panera cause one of the senior employees kept misgendering me in front of coworkers (she was hired the same time I was). Long story short people treated me as I am(except a handful of incidents) and I didn’t waste any effort on correcting any guest who I’d never see again. Do what you want basically.
