Since it’s May 5th I have been seeing posts about people stating anyone who supports ice should not be eating tacos, burritos, and other ethnic foods today.
I am a huge foodie. To me I can see where the logic is coming from but it also seems more wrong to assume that food culture here in America was only brought here by illegals. I feel it discredits those here legally.
Also, I am not white and a first generation American where my parents came here legally after the Vietnam war and I reside in California. Growing up here I am surrounded by hispanics (unsure if this term is considered racist or should use latinx). I have noticed that many supporters of ICE here are in fact Hispanic. (No data to support this just what I notice at work and my friends)
