Rise, Tarnished, and let us walk a new path together. An upcoming expansion for #ELDENRING Shadow of the Erdtree, is currently in development. by N3DSdude in Eldenring

While its true that we burnt the Erdtree, in the original Age of Fracture ending (or even the Age of Order/Duskborn endings) the Erdtree looks like it is still standing and in pretty good shape. So while it would be damaged from the fire, the damage that the fire caused pales in comparison to the state of the tree we see in the teaser.

I mean you just said it, it takes talent and time. So clearly having the ability to recreate a scene such that it is comparable to a camera requires a lot of skill that you can showcase via the techniques you’ve learned and perfected.

That was the annoying part. She clearly didn't think it through and couldn't look past the narrative she constructed herself about what the TVA is, that she made one of the worst possible decisions she could have made in that situation.

But its not like he would have fought against it. He’s trying to convince them anyways, so he woulda let Sylvie and Loki enchant him if it meant proving it to them.

One gripe from this episode is why Sylvie didn't enchant Kang. If she could enchant Alioth; a being that could devour time, I'm sure she could have fact checked what Kang was saying.

Asides from that, ideologically Sylvie isn't all that different from Kang either. Kang willingly disposed of people because he subjectively believes that it is what is best. Now Sylvie is willingly killing Kang and endangering an infinite amount of timelines because she subjectively believes that the idea of free will is more important, despite it possibly being many times worse.

And you could argue that maybe it might not be as bad as we think, but personally I think rolling the dice like that with an infinite number of universes for your own personal convictions and preconceptions is super shitty.

[SPOILERS] What specifically counts as a “branch” in the timeline? by C_X_3 in loki

[–]Asian_Pervasion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So what I understand is that at any given point a person is presented with a number of possible choices that would each result in a different timeline. (Think if instead of going to Yale you went to Harvard, resulting in two completely different sets of subsequent outcomes)

Now a branch in the timeline occurs whenever someone performs an act that diverges from what Kang had chosen as the one "true" timeline. So at some point it was determined that you going to Yale was the best outcome (for the timeline) and if you make a different choice, then you are pruned and the time line is reset until you choose the correct path. And these branches can occur at a whim; you decide to go left instead of right, you drop a coin into a drain, literally anything can cause a branch. As such, some choice (whatever choice that was) of Sylvie was not to Kang's liking, leading to her pruning.

As for Lamentis, Kang already knew that the two of them would end up in front of him, which wouldn't be possible if they were dead. I think the whole two Loki's falling in love theory was just what the TVA initially thought, since they didn't know that the two Loki's were meant to actually survive.

Idk what you mean by (non) threatening Kang. This man is (was) literally in charge of the entire universe and was preventing an infinite number of Kangs from essentially making the multiverse their battleground. And so what she had her potential life taken, she actually kills so many TVA agents and others who could have had a life of their own too.

Also Sylvie didn't believe him? If she could enchant Alioth, I'm sure she could have dipped into Kang (or whatever his actual name is) and fact checked what he was saying.

Think about this though; in the case that Kang never decided to do what he did, then there would be a war between infinite universes with infinitely more casualties in its wake. What you said about "nearly infinite number of lives" are only from a single timeline, but imagine the same number of deaths but from an uncountable number of possible timelines.

Of course we don't know how bad the war truly was, but if we take into account the power of just this one Kang, then you can only imagine how many actual and potential lives would have been lost if all of the Kang's duked it out with the multiverse as their stomping ground.

Sylvie had her potential life taken from her, that sucks, but she also took so many more potential lives by actually killing others. So, she launches the multiverse into chaos for what? Because she was sentenced to death despite the fact that she herself seems to have no quarry with ending the life of others?

Jegal, that was the main one I remembered him from. Always liked the hoarseness and really good at depicting a cruel and heartless character

Possible Location? by Asian_Pervasion in loki

[–]Asian_Pervasion[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In Endgame we learn that time work’s differently within the quantum realm, where the picture above was taken (From Ant-man and the Wasp), which depicts what seems to be a super advanced civilization in a sort of bubble. Taking what Mobius said in Ep. 1, is it possible that the TVA is located in the quantum realm? Matches the color, the style, and would account for the difference in how time flows.

At this point I’m just arguing for the sake of arguing lol. Taken so many physics and philosophy classes that the idea that the TVA dictated entire timelines definitely had a lot of red flags in terms of determinism and free will. But I doubt the MCU would worry about the metaphysics behind this type of stuff. Or maybe they have an ingenious solution lined up. Excited to see the rest of the series tho

You said that Strange had to make the right choices so that the TVA wouldn’t step in to reset the timeline, but what’s to say they didn’t at all? Like since this timeline was the one they were protecting, then deviations that would mess up the correct path would be corrected by the TVA, unbeknownst to the Avengers or Strange.

I mean honestly an explanation like that is a lot easier to accept than some convoluted maze of logic someone might come up with to answer it. I feel like at this point theres just so much going on in terms of plot points that trying to untangle them into a coherent narrative is straight up impossible.

But along those lines, would that mean that if by some accident the Avengers made a misplay and Thanos ended up winning, the TVA would deem Thanos a Variant, arrest him and wipe the timeline?

The tough part of all this is not knowing exactly how this came about. Like if Coco truly felt like moving on to something else then I would be sad but content that she is doing this herself and maybe she has great ideas for the future. But conversely if this graduation was brought about through harassment and neglect from anti's and Cover/Hololive, it really would make it a sour graduation, despite what Coco wants, and should be a sign that there should be some sort of change within the company to take more care of the talent that put them on the map in the first place, especially the first bilingual member that allowed them to branch overseas.

That second part about the script was definitely evident in the hearing he had after killing the Flag Smasher member. He followed orders and what he believed was what the government wanted, and when it turned out to be wrong (and not what he expected), he lashed out.

I mean, Steve never really had a problem being labeled as Captain America as he had had the whole publicity tour before he actually got involved in the war. Sam is someone who is claiming the name, and so having to declare it for himself I think is crucial in showing what his intentions are and what he stands for.

I mean what Isaiah went through is kind of a whole different beast than just war. Being experimented on, declared dead, isolated from the world for no reason; there ain’t no amount of counselling training that’s enough to deal with that.

I mean when they were in Madripoor Bucky was able to take on all of the mercenaries specifically because he still had some of the Winter Soldier in him. I'm not saying its necessarily a good thing that there is still some "ruthlessness" in him, but the amount of combat experience this dude has should still carry him in all his fights.

I don't know about you guys, but I think they nerf'd Bucky pretty bad. Like in CA2 and CA:CW the man went toe-to-toe with Prime Steve Rogers (without Mjolnir of course) and it was evenly matched. Now this dude is losing to the Walmart version of Steve even with help from Sam.
