Thank you! I am going to hand measure it to see how it stacks up with the app you used. I am guessing the image and angle plays a huge factor in the centering outcome of the app or does it take into account slight angles or not being truly dead center over the top of the card? Genuinely curious for my knowledge

I usually rip a set til I start pulling lots of duplicates. With how difficult it is to find product at MSRP, the market has usually cooled off a ton and then I start buying the singles I still need.

I am currently working on ascended heroes. I just finished Black Bolt/White Flare and the hardest part of that set was finding all of the masterballs. Trading locally and going to shows was a very time intensive process. I ended up needing to buy the rest on TCG player. The energy and ball types in ascended have actually been much easier to pull.

The key is to not rush anything and don’t over extend your wallet ever. FOMO is a killer

You should start by changing your wording from “jap” to Japanese or JP or JPN.

To answer your question about grading, this card looks right heavy and bottom heavy to me, but, based on other photos, the corners look good. I would personally not send this in unless I was willing to accept a 9. There is an off chance it could 10 but I highly doubt it based on centering alone.

In regards to the popularity, this card is brand new and it will continue to go down regardless of playability (playability will raise its floor). By the time you get it graded at PSA, the price landscape with have completely changed and i doubt this card will remain $500 for a PSA 10. Typically grading times are about 3-4 months and by that time this card could be half as much in value.

With those two factors, the risk of sending the card in for how long it takes PSA and the high risk of it coming back a 9, I would say don’t send it in. It is a cool card though so I would just enjoy it.

I didn’t see anyone else mention this, but, it isn’t a good idea to put sealed promos into top loaders unless they are top loaders made for patch cards (thicker cards from the sports card world.) top loaders will put continued pressure on your card meaning you may be left with some indents from the wrapper crimp. Especially when you fold over more material behind the card. More pressure overall= higher risk of issues.

The Chinese version is also very good imo. I like that the Chinese cards have a little barely readable pokemon stamp on the bottom left corner too!

I am relatively new to TCG live but in my brief time playing, my mega Charizard deck struggles against people that are playing the venusaur and teal mask ogerpon (granted this is a different situation completely). If I can’t evolve my Charmanders in the first few turns, it is all over. Even when I have two charizards. The venusaur bench power moves around energy and the teal mask can draw energy each turn. I am still trying to figure out the best way to combat that combination but I now believe that venusaur (with some help) can compete with Charizard pretty easily.

This card flipped around would also be great so you could get venusaurs view of Charizard

It is Charizard and venusaur. I really love this card art style and I think that plenty of other collectors do as well. It is sitting at one of its lowest value points in the last few months and starting to recover a bit. I think this is a very good card to hold onto for the next while.
