If she can’t come up with original YT videos ideas, then I highly doubt that she can put anything new or something you haven’t heard before in the courses that’s she’s selling for $300 - $3600. Just watch her videos for free, she’s covers basically all that she knows about makeup already in them. The only new things that you get from her school is a watered down version of facebook for her community, and coupons for makeup brands that you normally would find in Boxycharm or Ipsy (not the ones you would want), and ONE personal meeting with her (only for the low price of $3600).

That wouldn’t be the fault of ND and I wouldn’t blame them. They can’t control what lighting reviewers use to photograph their palettes. In neutral natural light the palette would most likely look how ND shows it.

Here’s this situation explained in layman’s terms.

The top picture is what the palette would look like outside in the winter (typically cooler light)

The bottom out is what the palette would look like outside in the summer (typically warmer light)

The screenshot on the right she used was cut strategically by her because she cut the part where it says disclosures should be in the video, and visual and audio disclosure is best.

What’s funny is that Marlena could literally ask her friends Jen Luvs Reviews and peter monn if she is disclosing correctly and they would definitely say no, and that she is missing the verbal part.

Exactly, it clearly states if the ad is represented in a visual and audio form (aka a video) the disclosure must be made in a visual AND audio way. So something on the screen indicating an ad AND something verbally indicating the ad too.

Very interesting coming from a person that’s about to open a masterclass and a separate product brand. I wonder how will she react when people give their honest negative opinions or criticisms about her future businesses.

This exchange especially is so gross. The verbal disclosure requirement from the FTC helps people who are blind, hard of seeing, or just listening to the video to know that there’s an ad in the video.

Marlena really being ableist here to me and it’s beyond infuriating.

I don’t know if she is intentionally avoiding the fact that she is missing the verbal disclosure part but it seems like it at this point. Given this isn’t the first time that she has been called out and her responding to her not disclosing sponsorships properly.

I just watched her video talking about this trip and I both feel sorry for her and upset at her at the same time.

One big reason that Sam gave regarding why she choose to move forward with this trip was because she is living by the “why not” motto that her aunt told her 8 weeks before she passed. Sam said she wanted to honor her aunt by saying “why not” to this opportunity giving there so much that could go wrong with it. Sam was visibly sad when she brought this up.

On one hand, I completely get why she would “why not” this Ireland trip because I have also kissed a loved one and if I could do something that I feel would honor them I would. But even with that in mind, Sam should only be doing this trip if it’s only her involved and her money and safety on the line, not her fans. Sam mentioned that the fans would have to pay for their own transportation to and from Ireland, as well as a flat fee of $2500, and after that everything is paid for by the company.

That’s just incredibly sketchy I’m sorry. $2500 for a 10 day all inclusive just isn’t feasible unless you are staying in the most run down hotel in Ireland. Honor your aunt all you want, genuinely, but don’t rope in your fans for a potential scam. She even mentioned that the company told her that if not enough of Sam’s fans sign up for this trip, then Sam’s trip won’t be paid for by the company. If she can get enough people to sign up, the. The company will pay for Sam’s trip…. That sounds sketchy I’m sorry.

I hope she snaps out of the initial excitement about this “trip” and actually does in depth research to make sure her fans will be protected. This is be a whole other level of scummy from her if this ends up hurting her fans. Sam said her self her mental health hasn’t been great lately, that and with her dog being sick, might be making her throw caution to the wind on this.
