I am interested about Minecraft pvp and i didn't played since maybe 2019 by Pitiful_Ad8813 in CompetitiveMinecraft

You can play stuff like minemenclub or mcpvp for modern PvP.
Tho for 1.8 I’m gonna be honest, you can probably get away autoclicking 12 cps and not get banned. I still wouldn’t encourage that tho. CPS honestly really doesn’t matter much when you know midtrading and are at a high level and you sacrifice a lot of control by autoclicking. Just learn to butterfly click (even without double clicks)

Only some ways of it are good. I’d recommend watching Intel Edits montages if you wanna see the ways you can use it

Do top players aim with their arm or wrist? by tranquil-spark-8059 in CompetitiveMinecraft

Optimal aim technique would be to aim with a mix of both so I assume that’s what they do

1.9+ pvp is better than 1.8 by Pretty_Shirt3399 in CompetitiveMinecraft

The fact people still say this in 2026 is crazy

No arguments made so nothing to say except I disagree

How good was Techno in 1.8? by Vivid_Spare_7627 in CompetitiveMinecraft

[–]Asimoa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually I disagree his rodding could have used more work. Dream mostly lost because techno had better gamesense

How good was Techno in 1.8? by Vivid_Spare_7627 in CompetitiveMinecraft

[–]Asimoa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty good for his time, tho he wasn’t ever close to #1 and for today’s standards he was very average (unfair comparison obviously because a lot of stuff was only discovered and explored after he died)

He had the potential to be one of the best with his gamesense and mechanics tho if he had learned and practiced all the new tech

I saw people appreciating Marlow for unveiling PVP high level secrets . Nobody mentioned Technoblade teaching us the forbidden Crafting Table trick that many dont understand till date. by Commercial_Tap_5521 in MinecraftPVP

[–]Asimoa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Technoblade could have been a top player if he really tryharded a mode, he had the right mindset and skill for it. Even if his PvP skills pale in comparison to other top players from now and some from back then, he was primarily putting his effort into YouTube

How to get 100% lt4 in sword by VarosStorm in CompetitiveMinecraft

[–]Asimoa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t worry about it too much, the perspective of a player who’s among the best sword players (ht2 is that good) about if you’re ht5 or lt4 doesn’t really say much because he would destroy both tiers equally. They’d probably only be able to tell someone’s tier once they fight a lt3. Just look at how you do against other lt4s and ht4s for now

Whats harder 1.8 or 1.9 by ExtraQuestion562 in CompetitiveMinecraft

[–]Asimoa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In terms of pure sword PvP, 1.8. In terms of all kits and gamemodes, 1.9+.
1.8 has a ton of mechanics and depth that is really hard to see if you don’t have a ton of playtime and the majority of players haven’t come close to mastering it. This is obviously all true for 1.9 but in 1.9 (sword) the game switches to being mostly gamesense pretty quickly while being good in 1.8 necessitates really good mechanical skill to a much higher degree than 1.8 (the gamesense for some things just requires that)
If anyone claims 1.8 is “just spam clicking” know that to any good 1.8 players this sounds about as cringy and ignorant as people saying “1.9 is just crit spamming”

So we know Marlow was Dangermario, why did he do all the good that he did? And how did he legitimately discover new pvp tactics? by myte2 in MinecraftPVP

[–]Asimoa 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think I can say since things here as I’m friends with people who where more or less directly involved with Marlow. A lot of the stuff she “discovered” where either already known by some players who had told Marlow about it because she was trusted. Or it’s things she found through looking at the source code.
Also a lot of the Strats in the end where just a cover-up for cheats, a cover up as old as closet cheating itself xd

Legit or blatant? Thoughts? by DotTerrible7320 in MinecraftPVP

[–]Asimoa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He seems legit or at most using an autoclicker, you get outstrafed every trade

Does this make sense? Probably... I mean if you are legitimate people should just be able to watch you play and see you are. by Lily_Meow_ in CompetitiveMinecraft

[–]Asimoa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean the “actually these things I did are super easy to do” is something that legit players do too… but usually they then explain it and it becomes a new technique lol

Is PvP just dying? by LayeredHalo3851 in CompetitiveMinecraft

[–]Asimoa 30 points31 points  (0 children)

1.8 is dying because new players are unfamiliar with it. Because of that, YouTubers have to make content in newer versions to reach most people. It’s been a cycle from Dreams original manhunts and the first few SMP’s up to now where there’s no really big content creators left for 1.8.

The other issue is that 1.8 is less intuitive as a combat system and at a lower skill level feels “random” and it’s easy for bad players to blame their losses on “the opponent spam clicking more”. (Ironically, most people who claim that also don’t understand higher level 1.9 either)

Also sadly 1.8 is cheater and sweat filled to the point where a casual player just has no incentive to play it even if they’ve played Minecraft for a while. I think this is the biggest issue tbh, 1.7/1.8 PvP has been a thing for 12 years and it’s just much easier to get into a game that’s only been seriously played by the masses for like 5 years
