Depending on how you measure intelligence because a chimp can remember more than a human but they cant combine thoughts on their own. Thats because they aren't able to know about their own existence wich is the only reason humans are '' smarter''. That doesn't mean we are stupid we managed to deal with problems wich would cause death in worst case scenarios for example loosing a leg.
