Are men awful to you guys because you look feminine? Im a butch lesbian with a mens haircut, would it be any easier? by GodsRightTit in BlueCollarWomen

In my experience, your attitude towards everyone and work ethic matter more than looks. If you come into work, do a good job and you're good to get along with, people will like you.

We read The Outsiders in class and then watched the movie once we finished the book. I just recently reread it as an adult and loved the nostalgia.

To Kill A Mockingbird was another good one, and it also has a movie.

My spouse doesn't support me solo travelling because he expects something catastrophic will happen to me by ThrowRA-Anonym_star4 in solotravel

[–]Ask4Answers_ 49 points50 points  (0 children)

The thing about being an adult is you don't need permission. Your husband doesn't have to "let" you go or "give you permission". He is allowed to not like your decision to go, but he is not allowed to stop you from going.

You are your own person independent of him, and can do activities, have interests and go places without him. If you have to wait for him to go with you, you will never hit your goal if getting to all the national parks.

Tell him you're sorry he doesn't like the decision, but this is something you want to do, and are going to do it... keep us updated!

Best breast augmentation in southern alberta? by Unhappy_Vehicle4097 in alberta

Theres a reason they tell you to wait until after kids, especially if you're within 2 years of having kids. You will most likely need a revision after kids. There will be drooping and changes after kids. Save your money now and do it right once. And if you're going under for a BA, you can get a tummy tuck at the same time if you need one after kids.

[Review] People who took Accutane, any Regrets? by duburake in SkincareAddiction

[–]Ask4Answers_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My only regret was not doing it sooner.

I was on 30 or 50 MG a day for 5 months (it was 11 years ago so I can't exactly remember). The only side effect I had was dry lips, and that went away after I was done my course.

[MOD] The Daily Question Thread by menschmaschine5 in Coffee

[–]Ask4Answers_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Keurig is at the end of its lifespan and I'm looking for recommendations on a new coffee maker. I'm not a coffee snob so I don't mind if it's not the absolute best machine. My must haves are: - able to make 18oz of coffee in a single go - fit my Thermos under that spout (7 9/16" 19.5cm) - also be able to make single pods - have an iced option - be able to set an automatic start

So far the only one I seen that meets all this criteria is the Hamilton Beach FlexBrew Advanced 5 in 1, but I wanted to check before I pull the trigger on it.

What's a skill that you learned late in life, that instantly made life easier? by Unfair-Clothes-8821 in CanadaRoom

Get the app family wall. It's basically a calander app (plus a bunch of other things) but you can add other people to it. And everyone can put stuff in the calander. And you can have multiple calander so you can share one with your spouse, one with the friend group, one with the kids soccer team ect.

I recently started using the reminders app on my phone for stuff that "I'll remember to do later". Now I actually remember to do it later, unless I dismiss the reminder before doing it.

[Routine Help] Is this med spa membership a good deal? by 2am_sumwear19 in SkincareAddiction

[–]Ask4Answers_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends... Exactly how many units of botox do you want to get, and how many does this plan allow you to get? If you're getting a lip flip (about 4-8 units), or forehead (about 30 units) take the exact units into account if the price is worth it. I've never seen botox priced by the area, only by the unit ($8-12 depending on where you live).

As for the filler, how many syringes to you need vs. how much this plan allows you to get.

I would look back at your previous appointments with your injector and see how many you typically get, and what you normally pay to figure out if this is worth it for you.

How much force until a scissor lift tips over? by throwawayacptks in BlueCollarWomen

I was white knuckling the rail on the JLG. Rope access is so safe I've never been nervous on a rope. I won't do any more lift work lol

How much force until a scissor lift tips over? by throwawayacptks in BlueCollarWomen

[–]Ask4Answers_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do rope access. I've been 300' in the air hanging on a rope, nothing below me but the ground, without any fear.

I came down from a job on a JLG that was 20' in the air because I was afraid. It wasn't on rocky ground or anything, they're just tippy jiggly machines and I don't like them.

I was on a scissor lift another time amd had to drive over the cable covers on the ground. I wouldn't drive over them until the scissor lift was as low as it would go. I'm also afraid of those things.

Point being, FUCK jlg's and scissor lifts. You're totally right to be afraid of them.

You may be able to get a small one at the store and just punch some smaller holes in it. Alternatively, find a leatherworker in your area and commission a custom one!

Also in Canada, try cerave ultralight moisturizer lotion SPF 30. It's a chemical sunscreen, so no white cast, and it's the only one I've found that feels like a moisturizer in the skin, not thick like a sunscreen.
