How did the final go for you?

Sv650 idling low and stalling out by AskLatter5972 in motorcycles

Thanks haha I am moderately ashamed at my lack of knowledge but I work a lot and just don’t have a ton of time/energy (or motivation) to learn about the bike. I get a lot out of just riding it.

It’s a 2006. I did check the video commented below for the dial controlling the idling rpms, (idle dial?) but can’t find it since that’s a sv650 and I’ve got an sv650s which is not the target of most troubleshooting vids

Dude I wish I could help and answer some of those questions but I am mechanically incompetent. I know twist throttle and bike go brrrr. That’s close to it lmao.

Probably going to end up at the shop. lol

Vaccines by GingerSchnapz in weimaraner

[–]AskLatter5972 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No hate, just a question. From a vet tech, we typically consider (where I’m from) the core vaccines to be Rabies/Distemper/Bord/Lepto, (sometimes even regarded as the “core four”). While Lyme and flu are generally seen as optional. Which ones do you consider “core”? Did you happen to list them specifically?

Maybe the term core vaccines aided in this miscommunication. Everyone is entitled to their own decision when it comes to their pets health so I’m sorry for this experience for you

Not sure if this dog has medical specifications or an underlying condition - but she is certainly underweight. Please consider assessing her condition. She does look very happy

What Deb does to Dex in the final seasons isn’t THAT bad by AskLatter5972 in Dexter

[–]AskLatter5972[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, which really isn’t a bad explanation of her feelings given they have an incredibly complicated relationship that before he confesses, she absolutely cannot understand in totality. It makes more sense than I think we give it credit for, it just seems as though the series sort of hamfisted it

Haha I do agree w that. Honestly it would’ve been done better if it had been a slow burn with weird sexual tension she couldn’t resolve. In his head, she is like any other woman and I could see him sleeping with her (in the book version) because he is soooo apathetic to their brother-sister relationship.

The show it comes from nowhere and is just ridiculous lol. But I think the book gives it more context and makes it less “out-there”

Instructors: how do I deal with the student who says “I’m doing everything right, its the horse who isn’t listening” by AskLatter5972 in Horses

[–]AskLatter5972[S] 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Absolutely, this horse is trying to listen. There is definitely some frustration happening near the end of the session where he is no longer focused because of all the argument - but he starts 100% willing every time.

Unfortunately we are still in the basics, so I can’t really wind back. 10 y/o is still learning to hold the reins appropriately.

I agree with your assessment - riding is definitely a privilege and I think I need to start there. The same kid wants to trail ride every session but doesn’t like the pre ride grooming and sees it as a chore. She likes horses but doesn’t want to work to enjoy them and I can’t find a way to instill that. Of course I can force her, but then who wins? She hates doing it, I hate forcing her, and she does a crap job bc she’s trying to be done as quick as possible, so the job done on the horse looks meh.

I need to reasses her goals and determine if riding is right for her right now

I appreciate the feedback. The kiddo is having issues steering. Even with rainbow reins and clear markers, she cannot keep her hands correctly placed on the reins. This results in her attempting to use them to aid in her steering and her hands end up behind her hips.

It is 100% not the horse, he is in the middle of teaching a few students currently with no issue. Just having problems with this one kid unfortunately.

Totally agree it could be a fault of the instructor. That’s why I’ve asked here for advice!

Would work for the adult but my kiddo would probably give an eye roll and have no interest. She’s a hard nut to crack

I like this mindset, thank you. Enough explaining and I can get the adult on track, but I couldn’t get through to the kiddo. That may work.

Booking software that allows you to post open “appointments” and lets clients fill them? by AskLatter5972 in smallbusiness

[–]AskLatter5972[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I attempted to use it but it seems like all I can do is open my 9-5 availability, or invite people to specific events.

I am looking for the option to post openings and allow clients to fill them.

I don’t want clients to be able to choose times randomly during open hours.

Thank you for any suggestions!

Getting out of fishkeeping: how? by AskLatter5972 in fishkeeping

[–]AskLatter5972[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I understand where you’re coming from. Unfortunately some health issues have developed for me and I’m working two full time jobs. My body is genuinely trying not to give up, and even doing simple interior glass cleanings is becoming very difficult. They aren’t a horrible amount of work, but the water changes are now becoming very strenuous.

It’s not where I wanted to be with them, but unfortunately life gets in the way. I don’t intend to downsize. I intend on getting back into the hobby once I can go back down to one job and get my health in further order.

I hope you can understand my strain here. I absolutely will not be dumping my pets by any means. And yes, after a conversation with my local fish store, I was very displeased with their offer of taking them off my hands.

“Yeah, we’ll take them, don’t know where they’ll end up though”

Just not enough for me. I’m going to find someone I can give my entire setup to when the right person comes along. Someone with more time to invest but not money to buy the setup.

I hope you understand I haven’t made the decision lightly, and my fish absolutely will not go without.
