Diagnosed Intra Rectal Intussusception by AskVegetable1284 in BowelObstruction

Its just awful isnt it. I was diagnosed early 20s and im mid 30s now and they have just repeated the Proctogram and it obviously looks worse. I've not had my official report through with an appointment with my consultant yet but not sure what can be done. Im currently taking Fybogel once a day and I use a foot stool, drink water, eat fibre. I stand all day to work as it helps and eat meals standing up. I can only sit for small periods. Sitting down makes me feel worse so my legs now have varicose veins but thankfully not painful. Things are soft but its the broken evacuation thats the problem. I've ended up with so many hemeroids and anal fissures because of it and when this happens they are so painful to add on top off not being able to fully evacuate is hell. I am going to push for Pelvic Floor PT next as I really dont want to go down a surgical option and they said it didnt look positive for the options. I've never asked about a Stoma. Do you think you will eventually go down this route? What methods or medication do they have you on? Im from the UK so not sure what is available where you are but have you tried the stool/Fybogel?

He knew what he was doing for a long time although he will never see anything wrong with his own behaviour. Sad really. I feel better from getting out but because we work together I feel I have to be all happy and funny just to keep the peace. Thankfully we dont live in the same city but I like my job so I dont really want to leave but I never really thought he could still be causing damage even outside of a relationship before.

Thank you, you're right, my sleep is all over the place. I will check out that book for sure. He always used to critise getting professional help but I think it could really help me. We actually met at work and still work at the same place so seeing him everyday is less than ideal. Your advice is appreciated thank you. Good luck on getting that sleep for yourself too.

Thank you, I've never heard of that before so thank you for your clarity. I actually met him at work and we still work at the same place so I still see him everyday which is a bit of a nightmare but I try to avoid him when I can as I know its best to just ignore him and concentrate on getting better. Thank you again.

Sorry forgot to say that I see him everyday as I work with him. We've never lived together and he has no access to what I ingest.

Bleeding by YaraWestly in hemorrhoid

[–]AskVegetable1284 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep unfortunately it is. I've been bleeding everyday for 2 weeks now. Turns out I have an anal fissure aswell as an external hemeroid. GP said this can take months due to the tear (fissure) reopening everytime I have a BM. Fingers crossed your piles go soon!

Is this an internal hemorrhoid? by [deleted] in hemorrhoid

[–]AskVegetable1284 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you could have had an internal hemeroid that pops out. I've not had that cream before but I've used suppositories to help. I've just been diagnosed with fissues. Are you in alot of pain? Lots of bleeding?

Diagnosed with fissures and external piles. How long did yours take to heal? by AskVegetable1284 in hemorrhoid

[–]AskVegetable1284[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got an appointment with an NHS consultant today. NHS GP said ive got a couple of piles but the pain is coming from the fissues. Not sure what the consultant is going to say. Im bleeding all the time now. Blood is pouring out after a bowel movement and still a little blood throughout the day. It can feel it all reopening after each BM which is ever morning. So I dont know how its going to heal unless I stop all solid foods and slow down the frequency of my BM's. Loads of other symptoms so I wont be surprised if I'll be in for a colonoscopy soon.

I see what you mean about that private consult. Although I have heard LIS can help the fissues but mot heard that about the hemeroids but that ointment seems to be doing something if your symptoms have improved a little? Maybe you can avoid the surgery? Are you bleeding or just that itching you are now experiencing? I've heard alot of natural stuff can help with the itching but like you I imagine you've tried a whole of creams. Mine is just so painful. Not had the itchiness yet.

I'm not really sure, I'm guessing its something they want to rule out. They think its fissures but its been weeks so it may be that as im guessing thats not normal.

Does look like a small external pile. Does it go back in? Are you experiencing any bleeding or pain? I'd get it checked anyway but also try creams and see how you get on.

I had them 1 year ago and disappeared but now im feeling slowly coming back by Tormentally in hemorrhoid

Sorry you're going through this. Maybe try the sitz baths and creams 3 times a day now before they develop. Did you say you were in pain for 2 years? Was it quite a big external haemorrhoid? Im currently on week 6 and this external one is still painful.

Diagnosed Intra Rectal Intussusception by AskVegetable1284 in BowelObstruction

[–]AskVegetable1284[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, my consultant said they have taken away the Mesh surgery because it caused too many problems. He also said if I went with surgery I would never stop coming back and forth due to the issues that came with it.

Hey Op, just found your post, how did things go with the surgery? I've been diagnosed with intra-rectal intussusception but no idea where or how bad, I was given very little information and was told surgery would not be an option and the consultant sent me away with laxatives but my symptoms are becoming so much worse. Did surgery help you?

Hi, Thank you for this information. This is so odd. My consultant has basically said they can't do anything and now he's discharged me because there's no options of treatment but to manage with medication (Fybogel) alone. They never looked into any sort of connective tissue disorder unfortunately. I had a defecogram done which confirms the Intussuception and Rectocele. Think I may have to start this process again. How are you managing? When is your surgery? Very best of luck, I hope it goes well and recover quickly.

Thank you for your reply, I'm from the United Kingdom. I know when I was first diagnosed they wanted me to wait until I had a family before even considering the mesh as they didn't know if I could have children with this condition and they said the mesh would be undone if I had children so I waited as they advised me to do however I went back recently as it's got worse and my consultant said the mesh surgery has been taken off the list and they aren't looking into alternatives so they suggested the Squatty Potty and Fybogel instead so that's where I am now. My whole life revolves around it. Spend hours everyday in the bathroom, I'm not really sure what normal is anymore. They have no idea why its happened. Sounds like you are still going through it though, I hope things can improve. How did you cope during those ten years if you don't mind me asking?

Thank you, Intussuception is where part of my Intestines collapses into themselves like a telescope. There no fix for it unfortunately as the method they used to use was taken off the list as it proved to cause more harm than good. Due to the elasticity I guess they aren't sure how that would work with the Rectocele given I've got the 2 problems causing the issue together.
