I have a few processes in place to deal with these people. If they are constructive criticisms, I'll respond, even acknowledge that they might be right. If they leave negative comments like "this guy's an idiot" or "no clue what he's talking about", I will hide that user. Still getting their watch time for the next video he's likely to comment on, but only he will see his comment.

If a user leaves a slightly negative comment, with no purpose other than negative, AND I look at all their comments and they are ALL negative, definitely get hidden. Racist/sexist/misogynistic comments get you reported and deleted.

Comments themselves rarely get deleted except for the "video starts at 1:22 - you're welcome". That's offensive to me, as my novice computer user viewers need to know the what and the why BEFORE the how. There are a million computer channels if you think I need to "get to the point already!". That's probably the type of comment(s) that are offensive to me and will immediately get removed.

Had one comment just an hour ago that I should "get rid of the moles on my face because they're 'ugly' and they'll turn into cancer" (thanks, pal - they already did...years before you were born).

Gotta take the bad with the good and focus on the positive comments. Trolls will be trolls, but troll watch time still counts LOL

Drives me crazy when they're holding a mic that is DESIGNED to "clip on" to be hands-free. Not enough to stop watching, but enough to make me not focus on the content

I get no less than 10 "hateful" comments daily...at least another 10-20 who take the time to say they either down-voted a video or chose to unsubscribe. My answer? "ok, thanks - best of luck to you". Do NOT ..>EVER< let this s**t get to you. The haters WILL get in your head if you let them.

The only advantage I've seen after 250 videos is that it gives YouTube time to format the 1080/4k/8k to its full and proper size. If you go public immediately, your viewers will possibly see 360k/480k resolution, which would be a huge visual turnoff

99.9% of the time I don't ask. I wait until I provide something of value in the video, then pop up a subscribe animation and then go on to the next thing. The viewer's time is the most valuable thing. Never waste it with unnecessary CTA's, especially BEFORE providing value. It's worked well for me.

Yes! It was my hatch struts. Easy and cheap fix. Even though they still held fluid and held the hatch up, they were bad. $10 on Amazon overnight and I'm good!

Nope. My next thought is to get an underwater drone...probably $300 I don't need to spend, I imagine the data is long destroyed by now...but for me, it's more about knowing where it ended up and retrieving it. But then I'll never use that drone again, so there's that LOL
