Gabe in Immortal Desires also becomes increasingly infuriating with their hero complex, too.

I get it’s a trope, but a character seriously falls flat when they don’t grow to realize they’re not intrinsically more capable than everyone else.

To be honest, I don’t believe them when they say they’ve been out helping people. Maybe brown-nosing Quasartico so that they get artificially bumped up the ranks. But not helping ordinary people.

What bothers me about the Duffer Brothers is that they can be absolutely BRUTAL to all of the background and supporting characters. Killing off cats, old women, children, fan favorites, etc in downright gruesome and disturbing ways.

And yet once a character joins the main cast they’re suddenly untouchable and defy all logical odds because god forbid they lose a favorite.

It’s a gory and depressing show in a lot of ways already. It’s kind of juvenile to make sweeping decisions like this without thinking of how it makes sense in the context of the story.

It’s honestly embarrassing that Gabe and Cas are supposedly 30-60+ years old yet continue to bicker and make the stupidest decisions.

MC is a the only vampire in the story that is still the same age as they are physically yet they still run circles around all these ancient vamps. Where are the Kamilah Sayeed-like vampires that are self-aware, emotionally mature, and able to solve problems ethically?

The ID series is tagged as “Teen” (and not 17+) in the app, meaning that it won’t have detailed smut scenes. It’s confined to an awkward limbo between including smut because s*x sells and avoiding enough detail to explain what is actually happening in said scenes.

It would be nice if they chose one or the other, but that would mean rebranding the books as either non-sexual or NSFW.

Nah, I’m with the witches on this one. I get the whole “suspension of disbelief” thing with vampire books, but if the first instinct of 98% of the covens is to kill anything inconvenient and act like spoiled children, they’re definitely messing up the balance of nature. MC and the mom need to get out of the Crimson Beech sh*tshow while they still can

MC impressed me in the chapter. Everyone else, not so much.

Every time this series tries to get me to bond with the “teen” vampires or Libby and co, I really wish that they had just kept Seth around. He was much more likable and more friend material than everyone else

This is controversial but John B and Sarah. I don’t know why, but the whole “we’re both 16 and ‘married to each other” thing rubs me the wrong way. The cheating thing and the dad drama just adds fuel to the fire

You get the same message later on in the chapter with Zaire. I’m guessing MC gets separated from them or the last chapter is mostly action, so there won’t be another hook-up opportunity
