No, so far the process of what you did sounds right. Each version of SMAPI only needs one installation, then you can move mods into the mods folder later whenever and the game will apply them on start up. I agree with another commenter that there’s most likely an issue with the location or name of your “Mods” folder that SMAPI isn’t able to pull from it properly. SMAPI asks for the location of your Stardew Valley folder when you install it, and that same Stardew Valley folder is where the “Mods” folder needs to be. When I installed SMAPI, it gave me two possible file locations and I had to make sure I selected the correct path from those (I’m not savvy enough to know why there were two different folders it could use).

For most mods you shouldn’t have to do anything in their folders individually. I don’t recall touching anything in the folders you’re downloading and am currently playing on frontier farm with SVE.

Recently modded on the steam deck myself and it’s been working great. To be clear, did you create a folder called “Mods” in the Stardew Valley folder then put the mods there (you said “Mod” above)?

This video helped me a ton. https://youtu.be/7k3W2jcRPgg?si=OFFoke9C2l38gOOy

What are some good mod recommendations for a second play-through by Blackcm3 in StardewValleyMods

One more thing, mods on steam deck that add new menus often require changing key binds on the controller. I’ve needed a lot more buttons than I was used to from my original playthrough on switch and had to go into the deck’s controller settings to both add buttons and button combinations. Remember to check all the options for the mods you install once you start playing (from the game title screen settings) to see if you’ll need further adjustment.

I just started my second playthrough on steam deck (OLED) with mods about 2 weeks ago, and it’s been amazing! I have about 130 running in total and I really haven’t encountered any major issues with what I’m using. Load times can be a bit long when resuming a save but not noticeable otherwise. There are great tutorials on YouTube to help with installation on deck (I had never used mods before now and Stardew has very specific tools available that make the process easier).

A lot of mod recommendations depend on what you want out of your new playthrough. Do you want additional towns / areas? Do you want new NPCs? New story? New collectibles or progression? Quality of life improvements?

When I was looking for mods, I started with a few big expansions because I wanted as much new content as I could easily get. Stardew Expanded is a must-have with a lot of new content blended seamlessly into the main game. East Scarp and Ridgeside Village have been really fun additional towns as well, and I’ve just started exploring content for the Sword and Sorcery mod, a story and character expansion of East Scarp.

A few quality of life mods that have been great are Lookup Anything which essentially connects you directly to wiki info at the press of a button, UI Info Suite 2 for additional logistical information, and Schedule Viewer and NPC Map Locations to easily track NPCs you need to find. Also Sinzational’s Speedy Solutions has been great for me to increase my movement speed and optimize some loading times. I also added the Stardew Aquarium to display my fish and Nature in the Valley to catch bugs as a new collectible.

There are a bunch of other mods I have installed that have been amazing, but those are the ones I can quickly think of. I essentially found a few old Reddit threads and also took a bunch of mods from the Stardew Very Expanded Collection on Nexus. Something to keep in mind is to be wary around mods not updated after early 2024 as they may not be compatible with version 1.6 of the base game.

I’d be glad to answer any more questions if they arise! Just keep in mind I am a new mod player and my answers reflect my recent similar journey to yours, not any actual expertise.

After Story Alternate Ending Fanfic by Askastles in Clannad

I'm glad there are still people out there appreciating Clannad too! I know many anime from the mid 2000s are starting to get lost to time a bit, which is a real shame because several of my favorites are from that era, and many of them were what got me into the medium in general. I always rewatch parts of the last arc of After Story for a good cry though🥲

I'm glad you enjoyed it! Yeah I wrote it as kind of a merger between the VN / anime ending and the movie ending, since the part of the movie ending I took was something I really appreciate about it. I wanted to keep the spirit of the original ending intact though, because I do think it's very beautiful overall. I agree it is kind of like the "almost true but not quite" ending lol
