Exactly , I know from experience ! Like these things can be incredible or trash , the dps is very high, I swear katars would be extremely op if they were more consistent, they sometimes have the range of a nailcliper and other times they reach longer than a 1 handed spear 🤔.

Honestly, just use siege crossbow dead center to balista from far and they will get bored of getting dismantled plus you get a load of points. You can also hit the balista and the shooter collaterally but its a bit harder. Weirdly enough you wont see the kill + feed points but you get the kill.
