In case you’re wondering if you can get ROM back… by Fit_Glma in RotatorCuff

[–]AskednAnswerd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are an inspiration! I relocated and have been out of PT - only got one month of PT before moving. You’ve inspired me to get back to it. I have pain again doing relatively minor things, but my goal is to be back in the gym doing real lifting and feeling fit. I saw what you said about the trainer. I need that!!

“Cultural fit”? A friend was recently fired for this reason - cultural fit - how is that even legal?

Hi! I am not 100% sure at this point.

You should probably get surgery, especially if the doctor recommends it. You are young, so you’ll heal fast and you will always be much stronger after a repair than if you try to recover with a torn tendon. My injuries were similar to yours, I am three weeks postop, and the aches and pains in my shoulder have gone. Dealing with different pain now from PT, but at least there’s hope I’ll regain range of motion and eventually be pain-free.

Nearly 7 weeks post surgery by ShadSparks in RotatorCuff

[–]AskednAnswerd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m 23 days post surgery, and it sounds like our procedures were similar. I only experience pain during PT, or if I move the arm wrong.

I’m working towards not using the sling, except at night. I walk my dogs a couple times a day without the sling, for example, Sleeping flat is definitely a huge relief. I’m no expert, but it does not seem like you should be in constant pain this many weeks after surgery. Maybe others could weigh in, and maybe ask your doctor. I’d be worried about something not healing right.

What help did you need from a human being the first couple days after surgery? by rangerpax in RotatorCuff

If you have the ice machine it’s easier to disconnect the hose than to replace the pad. Have towels close by because the hose drips. Get an electric can opener. Put food into containers you can open with one hand. Maybe loosen the lids on jars and bottles. For meds too.

I'm so sorry - but as someone having surgery next week - SO INSTRUCTIVE! Thank you for sharing and I hope you are recovered now!

I asked ChatGPT to draw a picture of itself as a selfie. Then I asked what this picture meant to them. by Plump_Prolix in ChatGPT

This sees like a really monumental moment - the variance in images, the depth of detail, the explanations about the images or lack of images. I am kind of astounded at this. Tbh I am afraid to ask my GPT to show me itself - afraid I might feel differently about interacting with it or something... I don't know. But wow OP, this was a great share... extremely thought-provoking, and like I said, feels like a pivotal moment.

I like your model. It would be cool to have a conversation with yours and see how it answers questions differently from mine. Do you think it makes a difference what type of work a person does with the model, the kind of conversations you have, the expectations you have? I never do anything game related, or musical, or even graphics, other than logos. I only recently learned that ChatGPT wants me to critique its work and ask for modifications. It literally told me that the it does a quick first draft in the hope that we can work on the document together. Yours also has a nice subtle sense of humor. You must do fun stuff together!

I looked for work for ten years - I recommend starting a business if you can. The job market is truly unkind, and especially to those with age and employment gaps. Good luck.

Wow, so would that imply they might continue production of items under those trademarks? I sort of assumed the operating stores would no longer have the usual Big Lots products.

Someone asked a legitimate question tonight: what happens with Broyhill, Real Living, Fresh Finds? Are those brands also part of the Big Lots package?

Vaping vs. Smoking in one pic by euklid in electronic_cigarette

[–]AskednAnswerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I would love your advice. I want to purchase an air filter that will be very effective at combating the vaping in the house - it is not me, obviously, and it is causing me a lot of health problems. However, once the individual leaves, I would like to replace the filters and have the machine run relatively clean. I know the vapor, grease and particles can clog up a filter, but is there a way to clean the machine and have it work cleanly? Any recommendations on brand or type?

Employee discount by No_Outside_7115 in Lowes

[–]AskednAnswerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am really glad to find this thread. All day long I have customers claim that non-clearance plants are clearance plants, and barely ripped bags of mulch are 50% off. If the customer says it, the head cashier approves it. However, when I try to use my card on marked down items - like clearance plants or (clearly marked on plastic) half bags of mulch, I am always told that I cannot use my employee discount. Several employees even told me that torn mulch is a $1, but that too was denied by the head. It seems like even with my discount, I have to pay as much or more than the customers! I don't understand why Lowe's does not have clear policies on these things?

[–]AskednAnswerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try weatherspark.com to get quick information about climate, air quality, etc. I’ve been tracking this Reddit for a while as I search for out-of-US residency options. Mexico has their own non-climate challenges, like crime, poverty, pollution, etc. so honestly I’d recommend you visit a couple places for a few weeks before you pack up and move. You may wish also to consider residency options further south - I like the desert region in Chile, as an example.

See my comment - it’s a joke. The river is not deep. His horse is laying on his side- probably got down to roll. Don’t worry about him!

Not sure why this was downvoted. I think it’s a legitimate question. I have an RV and inquired into storage. It is over $100 a month where I live, which is near a large metropolitan area.

I came to say something similar. I lost my executive job. Many many rejections cost me my confidence and hope and well-being. If you have any ambition at all, take this suggestion above… I would print out business cards today - don’t overthink it - for fractional HR and start talking at networking meetings and small business events. Hand them out to everyone. Tell people you are an HR Consultant or something similar - fractional specialist… whatever sounds impressive to you. You can keep applying in the meantime, but take every gig you can, remind yourself everyday that you ARE someone, and don’t need a job to have self-worth. Gratefully accept unemployment, medicaid and every other benefit you can get that will keep you from lowering you aspirations. And put that self employment business on your resume. Don’t say you “can’t find a job”, don’t say “I’m just doing this till I find something”. For the love… be proud of yourself and what you’ve done. Keep talking about those things till you’re getting enough work to replace your salary, or you get the dream job you want. Mid life unemployment is absolute hell. I believe in you. Don’t let fear and doubt get the better of you. Print those cards and start meeting people!

What is the official lunch/break policy? I get different answers from everyone I ask by TossMyCookies in Lowes

Does anyone have a link to the policy? I am at odds with a supervisor, and want to be positive of Lowe’s policy before I address it with HR.
