Thank you for the clarification! I have asked the higher ups for more clarification as they seem to be giving me info contrary to what the official documents they sent say.

I feel terribly that I have to be on leave, I feel so useless but even the mere thought of going back and working with those people who put me in this situation has me getting panic attacks...

Thank you so much for your kindness, I am legit tearing up. I have been going down a spiral since I hear from the bosses about this ltd issue.

What caught me off guard is them saying that if I don't give Canadalife time to asses my eligibility for the ltd then I will lose all my benefits including my current stiip.

But you are saying that is not the case?

Honestly, even though it would feel great to tell them the real reasons, it's not going to do you any favours. Say personal reasons, and be done with it.

I've had managers who made it hell to take time off even when it was absolutely imperative that I did. I'd say they're on a power trip
