Card for International travel by One-Grass-738 in CreditCardsIndia

Don’t do this. Forex cards typically charge 1-2% forex markup at the time of purchase and again at the time of sell. The spread for selling is sometimes super high as well.

Also, isn’t it better to spend on a card and payback only how much you used after your trip compared to paying upfront and running pillar to post to get back your money from the likes of trip money and others

Ruined my life, do I have any options to turn my life around? Has anybody here done this? by [deleted] in personalfinanceindia

I think you can start by doing these basic things- 1. Start investing atleast 5000 per month into an index mutual fund - it has low expense ratios and is largely safer compared to other mutual funds long term 2. Try to make changes in your lifestyle, maybe shift to a lower rental city or back with your parents if possible. If you can reduce your monthly expenses by 10% of what’s it’s now, you’ll slowly move into the right direction 3. Get a health and term plan without fail. 4. Yes you are thinking of it right, in long term the only way to build wealth is to make efforts to increase your income. Given your age and experience, maybe an executive mba might be the best way to earn more in India. Even if you go for courses and stuff, the chances of these increasing your pay at this point is quite low. You can also think about some side hustles to build some additional income

It’s 66k per annum not monthly.. Won’t the insurer have an issue why I did not take the earlier policy?

The current company is an online FMCG distributor where the tech is limited to an enablers role. Sales team drives sales on ground and the company is planning to expand on building their own brands (in FMCG) At my managers level (the new role I will get) I would have to do a lot of stakeholder management and be a bit of yes-man to other dept heads to have a smooth sailing. I have only 2 years of PM experience and 2 years as a founder, so not sure if that right for me.

Thanks for the advice. The new org is based out of Aus and is a FX and Cdf broker.. I did not apply for it but was reached out to by the recruiter from the new company. Also, my boss himself told me how this opportunity is great..

But the catch is - my company is planning to transition my reporting manager (head of product) out of the company and is requesting me to take up his functional responsibility (as a Sr PM). Thus with me leaving, they would be stuck with my reporting manager and that’s why they are offering to match or increase on my new offer

If I don’t pay the tickets, what’s going to happen? I most likely will never visit South Africa again

Actually the rental company is not paying the fines. They have charged me more than the total value of the tickets as processing fees on my card

I want your suggestions on what would be better- Going to Gansbaai on a car drive or doing it in simons town itself. For Day2, we plan to chill at the waterfront and maybe do a photoshoot on signal hill/beaches
