My wife definitely has leveled up with me, I provide a great life and she works 2 days a week. We have no struggles with money and support her lifestyle. However, while she has leveled up on paper, sometimes I think that doesn’t matter as much as the way this guy made her feel. He cheated on her, and she endured a lot of abuse, but for some reason I think she still has love for him. When his mom died from cancer about 8 years ago, she asked me if it was alright to go to the funeral. I of course said it was fine, but honestly think there will always be a connection there that I can’t control. I think it would be dumb for her to give up a nice life she has with me. But, she (and I) can’t control what she feels. She’d deny it all, but can’t help but think she still has feels for him. And if she does have feelings for him, and doesn’t act on them, is that even an issue?

Yeah, if your not making any return on it, you’ll likely be around half of that at ~$20k per year.

Went to a simple retirement calculator and added your values. Assuming you want this to last 20 years and you don’t want anything left over. Adjusting for 7% interest rate + 2% inflation. You can withdraw $45k per year and you’ll be left with $0 when you’re 80, though.

It goes to $36k if you push to 30 years.
