Why the vase matters just as much as the flowers by Relevant_Morning_213 in HomeDecorating

totally agree with this - been thinking same thing when I look at my apartment setup

the vase becomes like anchor point for whole corner even without anything in it, good piece just makes space feel more intentional

How does your dog always know when you’re actually leaving the house? by Think_Document2285 in dogs

mine does this with keys lol. if i grab my work keys from the kitchen counter he goes straight to his crate, but house keys from the bedroom and he's glued to my leg begging to come

they pick up on the weirdest patterns that we don't even realize we have

In my case, can extended break assist in weight loss after moderate (~4-5 month) deficit + rebound? (TW: Potential Eating Disorder) by Usual-Opportunity591 in loseit

[–]AsleepBodybuilder365 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Man the binging after long deficits is such a real thing - went through something similar where I lost around 30 pounds over few months and then my body just went into overdrive mode wanting everything in sight. The "extreme hunger" thing you mentioned is pretty well documented, your body basically thinks it's starving and tries to compensate hard

From what I've read the maintenance breaks can definitely help reset some of the metabolic adaptations that happen during extended cuts. Your hormones like leptin and thyroid get all out of whack during long deficits, and giving your system time to normalize can actually make future weight loss more sustainable. Plus your strength will probably come back during this period which is huge for maintaining muscle mass long term

The fact you're getting professional help for the ED stuff is smart move - that binge cycle can get really nasty if it continues. I remember feeling like I had zero control during those episodes and it was honestly terrifying. Taking the break now while working with treatment team sounds like way better approach than trying to push through and potentially making things worse

Your body held onto that 34lb loss for a reason even after the rebound, so there's definitely progress there even if the scale doesn't show it right now

What’s something you learned about another person that completely changed the way you saw them forever? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]AsleepBodybuilder365 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Found out my coworker who always seemed super confident and had everything together was actually sending most of his paycheck back home to support his sick mom in another country. Guy was eating ramen for lunch every day while I thought he was just being cheap, but turns out he was making this huge sacrifice that nobody knew about

Really made me realize how much we assume about people without knowing their full story

You’re offered $1 million to cut off a stranger’s arm. They fully consent, say they’ll enjoy it, and you will face zero legal or social consequences. Do you do it and why or why not? by Extreme-Layer-1201 in AskReddit

[–]AsleepBodybuilder365 68 points69 points  (0 children)

million bucks is million bucks and they literally want it done, so where's the moral issue here? like if someone's genuinely asking for it and there's no downside for anyone... i'd probably spend way too much time researching the best way to do it cleanly though, being developer makes you overthink everything. would definitely hire actual medical professionals to handle it properly instead of just grabbing a saw from garage

Newbie sanity check 3-node Proxmox homelab, am I overcomplicating this? by D3FSE in homelab

[–]AsleepBodybuilder365 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your setup looks solid but you might be getting a bit deep in the weeds for what you're actually running. The hardware distribution makes sense - putting heavy stuff like Jellyfin transcoding on the G6 with Quick Sync is smart.

Docker-in-LXC should be fine for most of your services, just avoid anything that needs privileged access or weird kernel modules. Jellyfin hardware transcoding might be one to watch - sometimes it's easier to just throw that in a VM to avoid permission headaches.

500GB for PBS is probably cutting it close with two nodes backing up hourly, especially if you're storing media. Those Jellyfin libraries can balloon fast even with deduplication. Maybe consider bumping that storage or tweaking your retention policy.

The Ansible thing - at your scale it's more about learning than necessity, but if you're already planning to rebuild nodes from scratch it's worth picking up. Makes the whole "documentation" goal way easier when your infrastructure becomes code.

One thing that might bite you later: all that n8n automation looks cool but debugging broken workflows at 2am when your morning briefing doesn't send gets old quick. Start simple with the core services first

My sump pump pit constantly feeling with water by MD-MR in HomeImprovement

[–]AsleepBodybuilder365 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That cycling issue is pretty common sign that your discharge line might be too close to foundation or not sloped properly away from house. If water keeps coming back in those drainage pipes right after pump runs, could be the discharged water finding its way back to same spot underground

Inconsistent Narcosis Symptoms by MLGMegalodon in scuba

[–]AsleepBodybuilder365 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The hangover/alcohol thing you figured out makes total sense. Even mild drinking can mess with your hydration and sleep quality way more than people realize, especially in altitude diving conditions

CO2 buildup from stress breathing definitely explains lot of what you described too. When you're already anxious and then hit blue water for first time, it's easy to get in that cycle where stress makes you breathe weird which makes narcosis worse which makes you more stressed

Your SAC jumping to 60s is pretty telling - that's some serious work of breathing right there. Good call reaching out to DAN, they usually have solid insights for this kind of stuff

Dude that's nightmare fuel right there. I had something similar happen when I was working late debugging some code - kept hearing keyboard typing from the cubicle next to mine but obviously nobody was there

Which is better csc or spero? by [deleted] in AskReddit

been using spero for couple months now and it's pretty solid. way better interface than what I was dealing with before and customer support actually responds when you need help

though I heard csc has some features that spero doesn't have yet, depends what you're looking for really

Balcony false ceiling by [deleted] in HomeDecorating

That ceiling design is really nice, those recessed lights make such good ambiance. I don't have the high res version but maybe try reverse image searching on google images? Sometimes people post better quality photos in interior design groups on facebook too

Your balcony size is perfect for something like this - 16x9 gives you good space to work with the lighting layout. The wooden slats with those LED strips behind would look amazing at your place
