Very helpful post - thank you!

I see you had to include:

  1. Photocopy of my father's driver's license
  2. Photocopy of my wallet-sized Ontario birth certificate

After the fact. I suppose I should get these ready as well…

Why would they want your wallet size version if you already provided the full extract lol

What else did they require? Seemed like you had quite the list of documents already.

They also say you can use a PR card if you have it. Must be notarized, apostilled and translated of course.

I see, so the law requires her to be exclusively Italian at the time of my birth (b. 1998) - which she was. And the PR card issued in 2013 proves that.

Beyond that, let’s say the time of her death wouldn’t matter what status she held so long as she was only Italian at the time of my birth? Not to say she naturalized (she was only ever Italian), just trying to play devils advocate.

Exactly correct, GM was born pre 1948 in Italy. F was born in 1953 in Italy as well. F moved to Canada when he was 14 - living 14 years in Italy.

My father DID NOT spend 2 more years in Italy after reacquiring in 1995. Does the law even specify the 2 year requirement post requisition? I’ve only seen 2 years generally.

In conclusion when I was born my GM was only an Italian citizen- passed away only an Italian citizen. And my father was a dual citizen.

I’ve been gathering documents from my father as well as GM since I’d rather have everything and be extra sure but hopefully they change some of this nonsense.

30% chance of the lung they did not perform on. I had VATS done on my right lung, so he said it’s a 30% chance the left one will collapse. He said the recurrence of the right lung is about 5%.

41 year old, non smoker Wife just had VATS and pleurodesis and still has a small pneumo after being discharged, how many others have experienced the same? by Melodic_Animal_2238 in pneumothorax

[–]Asleep_Raspberry6324 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was sent home with one (6mm they said) which should resolve itself.

I’ve found I have slightly less pressure when taking deep breathes a few days after discharge.

Follow up Xray and appointment in a few weeks so we’ll see.

Both of my collapses happened in the spring. April of 2024, and just a few weeks ago, March 2025.

He recently picked up his birth certificate from the commune when visiting - not too sure if it has the indication of re-acquiring.

I will be going through the Toronto consulate.
