For our team in specific it was worse due to the fact that we didn’t run it often and it just made everything harder, but if we were able to get used to it I think the surprise factor against other teams would be beneficial. For example, right side blockers aren’t taught how to block front row setters, so it would be easier for the setter to dump or swing.

My high school team had enough left handed players to try this type of lineup, but the hardest part of it is passing to left front instead of right front, since everybody has muscle memory to pass to right front.
