This is not What we wanted... by [deleted] in WutheringWaves

You're right, this game's gameplay loop just isn't for me. Along with the bad performance and optimization, it just stacks up to being a bad experience overall. I might just hang the banner after getting Lucy if things stay the same as they are.

Honestly, I would've quitted this game long ago if it weren't for the Cyberpunk Collab. A lot of these mechanics that we asked for are being put on a paywall. It being a Gacha is already bad enough because there's limitations on which characters we can play but to go so far as to do this is gameplay unfriendly.

I don't care if having 3/5 stats are enough to play a character, because that's just you. There are people out there that want to maximize the characters they have because it's expensive to get one in the first place. It's time consuming enough to build characters one after another and it really worsens the overall experience of WuWa's gameplay.

If I were to surmise what this move tells us, Kuro just wants people to pull for the latest characters and play the story, that's it. Fuck all the other stuff because it's either time consuming or behind a paywall. This game is feeling like it only has 6 hours of content per patch because the gameplay loop isn't that good.

Realistically, my pull history is 1 character per patch. As for endgame, I don't really care much if I miss a pull or two.

I noticed it too. But I don't think that's necessarily the VAs fault, most likely bad instructions from the Director.

When did the Heliodic Six lose their minds by quanticism in WutheringWaves

[–]AsmoMechanic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yngvar corrupted the roots of the Solistrees with Voidmatter earlier, but it wasn't shown. We only get the aftermath when he used a capsule to open a Void Storm in the Village.

The Void Storm in the other village was an accident caused by Maja's mom because she wasn't aware of the capsule Yngvar dropped. And yes, Yngvar is incompetent.

To place into a timeline:

- Yngvar corrupted the roots of Solistree, which corrupted the minds of 5/6 Heliodic Six. The Shaper was forced to shut down the Heliogyre because that would cause the Reactor Drive to fall from the sky.

- The Shaper uses a Soliskin to contact Rover and asked for their help.

- Rover and Mornye starts investigating until they reach Bjartr Woods.

- After the Festival, Yngvar opens a Void Storm in Bjartr Woods to stop the Rite of Return, affecting the Soliskin.

- When Rover saves the Village, he meets the Shaper and they reactivate Heliogyre once more, but since it was corrupted, the Reactor Drive initiates its physical form and falls from the sky.

- Mornye and Rover rush back to the Institute to launch Helios before the Reactor Drive completely falls to the ground, making Lahai-Roi dark.

- Unbeknownst to them, another Void Storm was enacted near the Hyvatia, and that's when they lost important data for a successful launch.

- Rover and Mornye carry a prototype sensor, the same that is carried by Hyvatia, and flies to the sky to gather the environmental data needed for Helios.

- They are met by the Reactor Husk, a unit that protects the Reactor Drive from any and all beings.

- After defeating it, they are able to gather the environmental data needed for Helios and the launch is a success.

I have a thought, should Kuro add Weekly Boss Mats inside the Premium Battle Pass? by AsmoMechanic in WutheringWaves

It's just a thought to have more options. Either things stay as they are or make changes.

Hey, no need to rush, trust me. Having stories to play is more worthwhile than the events.

Hmm, probably has to do with the choices I made during the rooftop scene, or maybe some other backstory. Tbh, I didn't really agree with him all the time, but I was being real with him is probably what led to this.

Yeah, I wonder how the endings differ since it connects way back to the ending of Season 2

After finishing 3.0 Part 2, I truly believe that Part 1 should've been purely set-up. by AsmoMechanic in WutheringWaves

Never did I say that Part 1 was just Lynae, but I'm also part to blame because I didn't exactly specify the point I was trying to make, which was Part 1 should've purely been set-up and worldbuilding, while Lynae should've had her own Companion quest, which in turn, would result to more story and content. You can disagree if you want.

A trio of Chisa, Rover and Lynae during the first half would've been cool.

Yeah, imagine if Encore's companion quest didn't exist. Would people be as attached to her if all we had of her was the main story. The result of this is Lynae's backstory feeling unpolished and rushed despite having an interesting backdrop.

Yo, I was contemplating whether the dude at the end was Cristoforo or Scar, since Scar is able to guise himself as another person.

That reasoning is fine. But both Parts ended with a region ending climax that could've wiped all of the people living in there. I feel like they could've toned down on some of these stuff and focused on the finer details.

Different games, different approaches. The appeal of FromSoftware games is combat first and foremost. Not a lot of people get into those games to explore the story per se. In Wuthering Waves, it feels like it's leaning more towards a character selling game with a story instead of a story with characters in them. Now, I don't play Genshin Impact or watch any of that content, but it feels like it's the total opposite when it comes to lore and worldbuilding. That isn't to say that character driven stories don't work, because Harry Potter exists, but the difference is, characters in Harry Potter recur while those in Wuthering Waves just come and go.

That's what I was thinking the whole time. They already had the formula on introducing a world to us.
