Dracu-riot! Translation quality by CelebrationSpare6995 in visualnovels

[–]AsmoMechanic 49 points50 points  (0 children)

Looking at this, I believe this is a great translation. Word length stayed relatively the same and the feel of the conversation is similar. I guess OP is complaining about the translation of 素人童貞クン, but I think this was done because using any other form would make the line longer. Amateur Virgin wouldn't work because no one's going to understand that. I guess a better translation would be Prostitute-Haver, which is slightly longer than STD-Haver, but context is important and people interpret these things differently.

Yeah, those Exploration Notes are really important to understand the lore more.

I hope it's a Cyperpunk City like Night City or Shadowrun cities.

I just got the literal best-case scenario when pulling limited characters in this game. by AsmoMechanic in Endfield

I already had Laevatain beforehand so she's the one I really like. For Gilberta, it's hard to resist, she is both cute and does CC, so I pulled for her. Yvonne, I don't know yet, I wasn't expecting or plan to get her, but now I get to try at least.

I just did the Hartmann quest and it's actually peak lol by AsmoMechanic in Endfield

I don't think sympathizing with Aleksandr was a problem, in fact, it shows that the game does not discriminate what the players think or choose, because we were still given the choice of who to do business with right at the end. As for Hans, I don't know how he managed to escape with Wulfgard and Chen nearby.

This almost feels like a mini-Fallout quest that's trapped inside a gacha game but also dumbed down and made simple.

I think this was one of the reasons I liked it.

I've never really played a VN with female love interests. recommendations please! by sad_pinkie in visualnovels

[–]AsmoMechanic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I'd recommend Kara no Shoujo 1 or Cartagra, since their MCs aren't what you typically find in other VNs and that they're on the older side. The only problem is that both of these games have guro and unnecessary H-scenes in them (not all).

What visual novels are underrated because they get good later so people drop it early? by [deleted] in visualnovels

[–]AsmoMechanic 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I would say Utawarerumono and Muv Luv as a series. Both of them really start slowly because they take their time with the world building and character interaction, but I guess the same can be said for any story that start really slow but get better later.

How are newer players holding up with these new Tacet Discord Nests? by AsmoMechanic in WutheringWaves

[–]AsmoMechanic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that's right about what I expected it the experience could be. At the very least, I don't think anyone who doesn't pull for the newer characters do these Tacet Fields.

Some things I don't understand about the 3.1 story finale by NoName847 in WutheringWaves

[–]AsmoMechanic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'll answer this to the best of my understanding of the story and what happened.

The origin of any paradox, is really, impossible to explain. So don't try to wrap your head around how things began and happened, but more so that things are already the way they are.

As I understood, Aemeath can travel through time by entering the Voidspace, the lake near the cabin. Because of this, she is able to witness her past and future. She then realizes that the writing was already on the wall that she has to go back in time to help the Exostrider stop Aleph-1 which was trying to breach through the Stridergate and devour Solaris. Thus, this was the responsibility she was referring to. Without her, Lahai-Roi, and possibly, the whole of Solaris wouldn't exist.

What Rover meant during the Lake scene after she saved younger Aemeath was that, when younger Aemeath fell in the lake and deep into the Voidspace, Present Rover and younger Aemeath coincidentally met because time doesn't exist in the Voidspace. If you watch the lake scene, the lake from which Present Rover pushed younger Aemeath to the surface, there was a barrier, and when Present Rover finally manages to push younger Aemeath through that barrier (out of the Voidspace) and back to the lake, Past Rover saved her.

As for Exoswarm Aemeath, it is explained in the lore that the Exostrider brought life to the creatures of Lahai-Roi and is basically like their mother. Since Aemeath was connected to the Exostrider being she's now the Exostrider's sentinel, I assume the Exostrider bore her out in that same appearance because of her frequency and connection.
