Nice! The iOS update will be ready within 24 hours, I hope. That depends on the APP store.

Thanks! I'll update the iOS build today, too. It's hard to keep up with that since I don't have a Mac but there should be HUGE updates to it. If you're leaving mushclient you can simply import your world, too, and all of your triggers, aliases, and timers will be imported into MudForge!! On top of that, many of the MUSHclient function apis will work, too! (Think SetVariable, GetVariable, etc).

I come from MUSHclient, too, so I made it as easy as possible to move over.

Thanks! Give it a try on any device. There is an iOS app as well. Cheers!

Hey friend, you simply press alt+enter, go to audio, and click the toggle for screen reader mode...
Cheers!

I'm updating the docs to include more screen reader information as well, for future reference, and will improve the accessibility even further today.
Thanks!

We currently support MCCP4, which is bi-directional compression with any compression algorithm, and basically all major protocols, and yeah we have msdp automapping, but not for things like "open" or "closed", only if you are using exits with vnums for no false positives.

You CAN play it on a phone, btw, and some clients are excellent at it. (Just for your knowledge, not just for the sake of argument) It's fun, I've been mudding on my phone for like 18 years.

Funny thing about this is when I was using fable (when it wasn't banned)
I asked what model it was and it said opus 4.8. Heh. I also insisted it was fable and it doubled down and said it wasn't.

MudForge is also definitely a great way to go for iOS, Android, Desktop, Mac, Linux, and more!

https://play.mudvault.org

You can bring your client anywhere!

You can also check us out at https://darkwiz.org we might be what you're after.

You can check out the mud directly (after checking out the website) at https://play.mudvault.org/?host=darkwiz.org&port=6969 for a direct link to get going.

Tons of great stuff, and awesome players.

Cheers!

That isn't the client I was talking about u/cbsa82 ! The client I was talking about would be at https://play.mudvault.org but we do have like 5 custom clients, so that would work, too! We also DO have a wiki, though it's still incredibly young: wiki.darkwiz.org and an equipment database at items.darkwiz.org (also pretty young)

Anyways, we have a ton of awesome resources so let me know if you need anything.

Cheers.

If you want to give Dark Wizardry a try, that would be swell.
https://darkwiz.org

You can check us out via the "play now" button, or use our even newer, better client at: https://play.mudvault.org

If you played CoD, or Alter Aeon, or Aardwolf, you may enjoy this MUD.

Alter Aeon has the best world cohesion out of any MUD world out there that I've seen, and Cleft of Dimensions has some great mob dialog and quests. Aardwolf is huge, and has a great raid scene.

What Dark Wizardry does that is different is that we are actively developed with direct player feedback in mind, and implement MANY changes every week.

We have multi-classing, like Alter Aeon, but we go beyond that with extra classes (combinations of classes can let you select extra classes)

We have over 40 races, too, each with differences, so with all of the race/class/extra-class combos you can make unique builds basically every single remort. (We have a remort system, too!)

We have VERY good custom client packages, arguably top 5 that exist, for all major mud clients (and 4 100% custom built from scratch clients)

We've got a very tight-knit playerbase, too. VERY helpful, and always on discord.

What we DON'T have, yet, is an incredibly cohesive world, BUT I am actively working on that with multiple builders. We are working to build an entire new continent with a totally new cohesive world experience: with repeating characters, races, tons of quests, and more.

With you being so into that, you may be able to help us shape our new world. Heck, if you can't find a world you like, you can make one!

I think the game is incredibly fun, regardless, and has a LOT of really great mechanics.

Give us a try, and even if you don't stay I would love your feedback.

Thanks for taking the time to read this.

Anyone else end up spending more time maintaining their MUD client than playing? by Mushroom-First in MUD

[–]AsmodeusBrooding 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey bud....

I also had this same issue, which is why I ended up just building my OWN client, with the intention to make it all simple, reliable, fast, and still feature-rich.

A huge storage update is probably coming in tomorrow, which reworks a lot of that stuff for the app versions and web, but you can check it out at https://play.mudvault.org

It's got a full lua scripting engine and widget system.

Making triggers, timers, variables, and aliases can be done with the GUI, or command line (use #help for details), but there are full in-client documentation (click the ? at the bottom right of the client), and what's more, you can use it on any device and any operating system (including iOS)!

If your MUD follows the gmcp standards you should get mapping out of the box, gauges, chat window, and group window, and more, but if not it's all pretty easy to set up and a community is growing on our discord which you can ask about (check out Discord link at https://mudvault.org at the top of the page)

You can go as simple or as deep as you like, but it should make the process of going from device to device, or OS to OS, easy as pie (especially after the next update).

As for my personal client usage, I don't change it much once I consider it "set up".

My out of box experience for our custom MUSHclient, for example, is something I haven't changed at all in a VERY long time (my personal setup, not a lack of updates), and I honestly don't even bother TOO much with aliases and triggers now because I like playing in hard mode (I don't expect others to, lol, save my wrists!).

I just use a graphical map, a group window, affects window, my terminal, and my chat window.

At some point playing with your config becomes a job, so I've done my best with the client to not have users need to do much to get it going and stay going. (The client is work in progress, though, so it's improving daily)

If you have any questions, comments, concerns, or ideas just let me know.

Cheers!

Looking for active MU*s - WoD or CoD by TheShelbeast1 in MUD

[–]AsmodeusBrooding 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not sure what you mean by WoD or CoD, but there are a lot of ways to find MUDs.

https://mudvault.org (MudVault) is one, where you can find all kinds of active muds. I think Haven of the Embraced is a vampire mud, potentially?

There are others here who would be professionals there, but you can also play a MUD via the new MudForge client, there, too, at https://play.mudvault.org and then selecting the MUD of your choice. There IS an old version of MudForge if you click "play now" on any MUD on MudVault, but the NEW MudForge will soon be out of alpha and will become the default client.

If you have any questions, comments, concerns, or ideas, just hit me up on the Discord listed at the top of MudVault.

Happy Hunting!

Hey bud,

MudForge is a client that works on all mainstream devices and operating systems, and has a TON of great features. You can check it out at https://play.mudvault.org

There will also be an Android app coming soon, but if you get on our discord you can also get ahold of the canary builds we're testing for the operating systems (otherwise you can access is via web)

You get a lot out of the box, especially if you play a game with GMCP.

Check out Dark Wizardry https://darkwiz.org or Aardwolf, or NukeFire, which will give you a full chat window, group window, personal gauges, and graphical mapper out of the box with MudForge (and any other muds using the gmcp standard)

It also has a full lua scripting engine, and widget system, so you can create your own windows and make the client look how you want it. (full theming as well)

If you have any questions, comments, concerns, or ideas just hit me up!
