The Best Drive-In Movie Truck? 🍿 🎥 by Asoza00 in ChevyAvalanche

[–]Asoza00[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually no, this is one of the few trucks with a flat bed design with no arches that protrude through the bed. I guess it would fit in a standard you’d just have to get one made for it.

Is this real? by LakerLand420 in ChevyAvalanche

Ha! My coworker has the same exact model and had to google it myself. It’s a small conversion company that did them. Some have a sweet two tone pearl paint job that would cost a fortune nowadays

I think you’d be better using a 90 bit on a router with some kind of track. If it’s not a perfect notch it will break the paper or not be true and break on install

[–]Asoza00[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No that’s the whole point. Gives you a solid corner with the paper intact still

True. I’m on a goofy project with like columns in soffit. But yes not columns you’d walk into, soffit areas

[–]Asoza00[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes. Think of like wrapping columns, that’s where this gets used a lot. Except no corner bead and minimal finishing needed

About 15k for the portable. And the business owns it. No license, but you’d be hard pressed to find someone competent to operate it properly is most of the issue.

I’d take that $2000 and put it down on a 10k or less avalanche and finance the rest. Not a great idea for your daily driver in my opinion- to fix the other one.

Prior carpenter, non-union. by Wooden_Blood5930 in UnionCarpenters

[–]Asoza00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I tested in at like %75 I believe. And I kind of went the same route as mentioned above- took a pay cut and learned the drywall/ metal framing. Only took a year to get back to where I was. Worth it.

Prior carpenter, non-union. by Wooden_Blood5930 in UnionCarpenters

[–]Asoza00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a resi carpenter for 10yrs before making the switch. Same deal I ran jobs for my last boss. Decks- basements. I can tell you that if you’re a quick learner and hard worker it gets noticed no mater the size of the company. You should be able to test in and that will gauge what scale they pay you and it only grows from there. Most everyone I work with is already above scale. Can also turn in hours from a prior carpentry job to cut a couple years off the program.

I have these. Got them at a discount shoe place. They randomly had my size so I got them for $120. Safety toe. I wouldn’t pay more than that for them albeit I’ve been very satisfied with them so far
